- Bob P1 contributionWe were all very glad that we chose to take this tour. Our guide, Allysa was the best. She is a former park ranger and knew everything about the park, and answered all our questions. By the end of the trip, my dad remarked that she was like part of the family. She was also a great driver, knowing the roads like the back of her hand. The road through the area is very, very steep and winding. Do yourself a big favor and don't drive yourself or you will miss a lot. She took us to eat lunch next to a stream in a valley that looked like it was off of a postcard (see attached photo). The instructions in the email was imperative to be able access this during the tour. I will look forward to using this service for future activities. We have booked tours on busses or other means of transportation and this is a great alternative for the cost.
My only wish was maybe add the dates and info on some of the fires. There were also times during the drive that my phone dropped the connection and I had to start again. We had a few on the trip who were fearful of heights and Rachel went out of her way to get them both up to the top of Moro rock. She was patient, kind, and helped them overcome their fear. The view was beautiful and worth the steep height.
Rachel made sure we visited all the spots we had requested. She was extremely knowledgeable about the park and all the history within the park. Our favorite experience was the 3 mile hike surroundingthe general Sherman tree. She took us off the beaten path and were able to capture some pretty amazing g photos. If you’re looking to do a tour of this area request her and you won’t be disappointed. We have done many tours and she is by far one of the best guides we have had.
