Good little picknick, amazing view of the canyon flying into it, so picturesque…everything great. - Jan CUnited Kingdom24 contributionsIt's really worth splashing out on this as it's an unforgettable experience. I chose the 5pm flight, so we could enjoy the lights on the Strip on our way back. Our pilot flew the length of the Strip before landing, which was wonderful. It was the icing on the cake after seeing the dramatic views of the Canyon at sunset. It's really something special & the 90 minutes in the air allows for plenty of time to absorb it all. Our pilot, Arthur, was lovely & the company were reassuringly safety conscious. It's worth mentioning that 5 Star did not contact me in advance with a reminder or arrangements for the pickup. The day before my flight I looked at the small print & found out that it was my responsibility to contact them 24 hours in advance to confirm. I found this a little unusual, as all of my other various tours contacted me repeatedly with reminders & instructions. Nelson was a good driver and Brandon was a great tour guide - very friendly, knowledgable and well organised. A couple of things lost the 5th star. The first of the two walking tours was really a 'standing' tour - standing out in 100 degree sun while Brandon talked about the local area and tribes. Not healthy. And then being told at the end of the tour that he and Nelson each expected a $10 tip, and then having them both stand at the door, hands out, as we got off was crass and soured the experience. Our driver Chad was the nicest guy who was happy to help & you could see he was a genuine guy by the way he interacted with others outside of the group. He was knowledgable and approachable. The tour was broken down into stages with plenty of pit stops. Snacks and drinks were provided aplenty throughout the day and we were actively encouraged to get it at every opportunity. - Bill PBaton Rouge, LA10 contributionsOur tour bus driver/guide, Michael was awesome! He could easily be a stand up comedian. Unfortunately the bus a/c went out about 5 minutes out from the dam. However, we sweated it out and got there. The views, the dam and Lake Mead were amazing!!! Didn’t get to tour the power station due to that a/c being down. Replacement buses arrived and got us back to resort safely and with AC. A warning if you go early Sept, it is extremely HOT!!! So be prepared for the heat by hydrating before you go.
If you don’t want to drive yourself, Gray Line will put you in the best locations to view the Dam. - Daniel H7 contributionsMy family and I went on the day trip to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon last week. We had a very memorable, wonderful day. The trip was easy to book through TripAdvisor. I also appreciated how the company called me the day before to confirm the trip, as well as kept corresponding through email/text with updates in the hours leading up to the trip. The actual day of the trip was a bit of a whirlwind with the very early pickup time and the long bus ride to the Grand Canyon (and back), but it was very eventful (in a good way) and all very worthwhile. We got to check out the Grand Canyon up close and personal and had absolutely gorgeous views of the Canyon. We got to take a ton of amazing pictures while we were there. Our tour guide, Kevin, did a very fine job leading our group throughout the long day. Kevin kept us on schedule as much as possible, made regular announcements throughout the trip to make us aware of everything we needed to know, and was just very easy to interact with, with his humorous and amiable demeanor. My family and I also did the guided tour of the Grand Canyon with Kevin for an additional fee, which was very much worth it. Kevin did a terrific job showing us the highlights of the South Rim and taking a lot of great pictures of my family posing at various areas of the Canyon. We also really appreciated how the company provided as much cold water as we needed (as it was a very hot day) as well as arranged lunch and dinner for our group. Kevin is a great, great guide! From the moment we were picked up at the hotel, it all ran smoothly.
We didn't do the sky walk thing and to be honest, there wasn't much time anyway so saved money.

Went out of his way for us taking photos and stopping at Hemenway Park to see the big horn sheep.
