Great and funny guide. Saw animals, got to hold baby alligator! Well organized tour. Kid friendly! Boat was safe for those afraid of gators.

Loved this plantation! My interest was to learn about plantation life and take photos of the outdoors. No photos are allowed in the house. We were allowed two hours to look around and this was not enough! The house tour Itself is 30-45 minutes. We got back an hour early from the tour ( at 2:30 instead of advertised 3:30) and I really wish we had that extra hour to look around. I didn’t have enough time to look at all displays, browse the gift shop, or even grab a snack or lunch at the restaurant. Walking the path to the Mississippi was a non starter too. Granted it was a cold, rainy day, but we came prepared. Our bus driver was professional, but I thought tour drivers would try to include some information about plantation life or New Orleans in general. Not a peep from her.

Very informative, friendly driver who made the travel time whizz by. We learned a lot about the history of plantations in the area, the long-lasting inequities in the region, and everything we saw from the bus - the city, the landscape, its infrastructure, and wildlife. The Whitney Plantation Tour itself was fantastic and moving - and doing it self-guided made sense in the context of quiet reflection. Wholly recommended!

Great way to spend a day. We had Ernie as our large airboat guide on the swamp tour. It was a very fun experience and he took the time to point out alligators and educated us on the species. He was fantastic. The plantation tour was good. Wish we had a little more time to see all the grounds and exhibits. We rushed a little and there was not a lot of time for any lunch.

The tour was well organised and straightforward. All we had to do was be on time and the rest was taken care of by our driver.
The Whitney Plantation was unmissable. Informative and heartbreaking. Our understanding of this period of history, and it’s lasting impact, was improved greatly.
The small airboat tour was fantastic and so much fun. We met plenty of alligators and it was great to experience the swamp and all it’s inhabitants.
    Totally recommend this tour.

Pickup and drop from the hotel was smooth and the instructions were well written.
The driver was communicative and on time
There were issues with his microphone in the bus, but that is only a slight inconvenience
In all, the tour was money well spent

I loved my experience on the Steamboat Natchez! My advice is to get there early so you can head to the top deck and find a seat right in front of the live jazz band!

Oak alley plantation was georgeous! It definitely worths a visit. We had two problems with the tour. We were on time waiting for the bus, but they didn’t explain that we had to stay on the sidewalk (we were at the hotel lobby). They left, and we had to call them back. Inside the bus, the driver spoke all the time, obviously looking for the tip. We would have appreciated some moments of peace and quietness

Completely enjoyed this trip. The guides in the busses were knowledgeable and personable. The plantation was a real sight to see. But the swamp tour was a blast. Captain Jason did a great job taking us about and insured that we got to see plenty and take the pictures we wanted to take. This is a must for your New Orleans trip.

One was a walking tour narration from guide. Nothing special. The second was a portable audio tour. The narration was good and flexible. Very busy. The van guide was excellent and entertaining.

This was a great combination & we learned a lot! Our bus driver, Steve (Cajun Encounters Tour Company), was informative as well as entertaining! He let us know that since we're doing both tours, we won't have time for the restaurant for lunch, but said the deli was great (he was right)! He was even nice enough to drop us off closer to our hotel, being the last 2 passengers!

I did separate reviews of the plantations.

Our tour guide Rene is a wonderful host to visitors of New Orleans. He brings the city he loves to life with personal stories and historical facts. It was a great day and highly recommended. Isabelle was very helpful booking our tour. She and Rene made our first trip to NOLA special!

We took a small group tour with Kindrell. It was the best decision we made. We were picked up and dropped of to the place we stayed. Dew to the flood warning the night before our tour had to be modified and Kindrell did absolutely everything to make sure that it will not affect our experience and we will not wait in any part of our day with our scheduled activities . We had a swamp tour and Oak Alley plantation visit. In our opinion you should definitely do both. Sitting on the boat with captain Bruce was relaxing , fun and educational at the same time. Holding a baby alligator was a cherry on the top. We saw many creatures while sailing( raccoons, wild boars, turtles and , of coarse, plenty of alligators). When we get to the plantation, we had tour inside of the mention and had good amount of time to walk down the alley of the famous trees , to sit and enjoy pease and serenity . Then we even had time to listen to the docent outside to tell us about hard life of the slaves on the plantations back in the days.He was so passionate and engaging. Then Kindrell picked us up and while driving back to the city he was telling us about neighboring plantations we were passing by and recommended to watch a listen self -guided tour of Witney plantation.
Overall, amazing day, filled with grate memories, pictures , learning . Recommend! Recommend!

This was our first plantation of the 2-plantation tour we took. I liked this one better because it wasn't just, "Look at the beautiful home", it was, "This family is like a soap opera"! Yes, it was beautiful & I prefer the Creole style of this plantation to the American style of the Oak Plantation, but, more importantly, remember that this was built by slaves. Lindie was an excellent tour guide who ended the tour with a personal touch about her own family in relation to how the slaves were freed & ended up being stuck with no where else to go because they, sadly, didn't know any better. Her grandmother is Creole & she basically highlighted how slavery still affects non-whites to this very day.
