Nick did an amazing job! He had a lot of information to share about kayaking and the wildlife. I also love learning about local folklore so he went out of his way to share some stories and book recommendations. We were able to spot 3 barred owls, a swamp rabbit, and much more. Definitely would recommend.

We had an amazing kayak paddle led by a one of a kind guide, Gerald. We saw loads of alligators of all sizes, turtles stacked, and listened to the bird calls surrounding the swamp. Gerald the biologist is an awesome dude and super knowledgeable of all the critters and lore of the area. We couldn’t have asked for a better trip! Four thumbs up for sure. Thanks again!

Stephanie was awesome: Personable, competent and considerate. We did the combo kayaking + plantation tour with lunch. The scenery was beautiful and the Barred Owl we saw was Magestic. Stephanie gave some great insights into the Bayou and it was clear she was in her element. Lunch was delicious, but Do Not drink the tap water. (Ugh!). The plantation visit, told from the view of the enslaved people, was shocking and humbling but well worth the emotional discomfort.
One note: the trip advisor site is NOT correct. It says the tour begins at 0800 and the meeting instructions say to arrive 1h 15 min before the tour starts. This is incorrect!!! (If you happen to show up at 0645, as we did, the Voodoo Lounge is open 24/7 and has fun people and interesting drinks.) Be at the meeting place at 0745. Enjoy!

It was a brilliant tour, one of the best things we did on our trip to New Orleans, Stephanie was a great guide and took time to explain the background to the swamp and the animals and birds that we saw. We were glad we took the longer tour as it enabled us to see much more.

We enjoyed our time on the water with Matt. His knowledge made the scenery twice as interesting. His genuine love for the outdoors made you appreciate the rich wildlife and history that New Orleans has to offer beyond music and food. We highly recommend spending time with him outdoors.
