I have never learned and felt so much about WWII, and we were only able to see part of the museum. It told the stories of many individuals who fought and of those who died on the confederate side of the civil war. As well as the reasons for the war and presented many interesting facts, such as only 6% of southerners owned slaves. The volunteers were a wealth of information. - noblemon2Long Island, NY37 contributionsOne of the best museums I've visited. Totally rebuilt after Katrina, it has a great outdoor display of vehicles, aircraft and artillery. Indoor exhibits are well put together, holding a visitor's interest. They've just finished a permanent exhibit on the War of 1812 and the Battle of New Orleans. Great research library on Louisiana military units and histories.
