Kristi was a great guide, not only knowledgeable about the local food but insightful on local history. She was attentive and had a voice that carried clearly and everyone in the group felt included
The instructor and her team were super entertaining and helpful. I can't wait to try the recipes at home and share what I learned about Cajun cuisine with my family!
This experience covered not only key food tasting but the history behind the locations and the ingredients used, which was very interesting! I liked the variety of places - some restaurants, some shops that I probably wouldn't have considered if not for the tour. And our guide, Beth, was very knowledgeable on all the information.
Whether you have, or haven’t, been to NOLA before…this tour is a must! We were introduced to authentic cuisine, an unbelievable variety of beverages, restaurants, bars, entertainment venues, gift shops, that are unique and not included as part of the traditional tourist stops. The education on the history of the French Quarter was a bonus…as was our host, Nate. Having done food tours elsewhere, this has jumped to the top of my/our list!
We really enjoyed the cooking class at New Orleans School of Cooking. I got some good tips on how to prepare the dishes. Everything was laid out so well and prepped with care. The recipes were yummy traditional New Orleans cooking. Vivian was our teacher and she did a great job keeping everyone on the same page.
If you are in the fence, do it!!! We brought our 12 & 8 year olds & had a fantastic time!! I really appreciate Mark’s patience - my youngest was extra exhausted & he was a pro! He truly shared the art of cooking with all of us!!
We enjoyed all of the treats -especially the King Cake Beignet-and had a great time learning some history. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Even my teen boys enjoyed!
This was our first time in NOLA so this seemed like a fun and inexpensive tour to try. I want to start out by saying that my husband & I were so tired after a whole day walking around and exploring Bourbon St, that when it came time to go back out at 7pm for the walking tour we were exhausted. But thank goodness we pre-paid, cuz that was the only motivation to go out at that point. But I’m so glad we did cuz we ended up having a great time walking around the French Quarter at night and we hit spots we would have never got to on our own. Our tour was made up of a small group of couples (about 12 people) so it was perfect moving from place to place without losing people. We hit 4 spots and The Blue Nile was our favorite and #3 on the list. Such a great music venue and bar atmosphere. Different types of live music styles at each stop and all entertaining. Our tour guide Pandi was super nice and interactive and did not rush us from bar to bar. And after the first stop and a drink, all the couples were interacting and we had a really Good time and made some nice friends. I would recommend!
Charles was an awesome guide, very knowledgeable about food, history culture and current events. Generous food portions and great venue choices. We really enjoyed the tour
We had a fabulous French Quarter Food Tour today with Gordon. Five excellent stops featuring traditional New Orleans dishes. From chargrilled oysters to red beans and rice, the flavors were exquisite. Along the way, we enjoyed conversations about history and culture that you cannot get from a book. We would do this tour again tomorrow in a heartbeat. Gordon did an outstanding job.
Clarissa was a great tour guide and had a lot of good recommendations! It was great to learn about the haunted history of New Orleans from someone so passionate and knowledgeable about ghost
