A great stop to find some souvenirs and grab a quick easy lunch. You can't beat the muffelletas at Alberto's. They're delicious!

The French market also has some of the cleanest public restrooms in the French quarter.

Catch the riverfront streetcar and take it to the end of the line.

This “store” is more like visiting a world class museum. You will see works of art and jewelry from artists renowned for centuries. It’s pretty incredible, and a must go on Royal Street.

Customer service was professional and excellent. I found a really pretty silver necklace as a memory/souvenir from that place.

When visiting the FQ (which is about 2x a year for us), we always take the time to go to Frenchmen Street. Walking through this quaint area, set up with local wares and artists is a nice distraction from the noisy streets. You can walk to Frenchmen or just uber there and spend a few hours in the area. Visit the local restaurants, bars and of course the Art Market. Folks are friendly and not normally "drunk". People watching is awesome and you will see this is a place where the locals like to go. Pick up something unique here and just enjoy the slower pace.

A bit off this beaten path for most out of town visitors, this museum exhibits powerful works that amplify the black experience in America. Some of the pieces exhibited were created as part of a Covid-era student program. There is also a large exhibit of the works of founder Brandan BMike Odums. The space itself, an uninsulated warehouse that was massively leaking from the rainstorm when we were there, is part of the experience.

A grand mall that is adjacent to the great river and has all the usual suspects with an American twist. Pleasant to walk through and leads to the huge convention center.

Tanner Gallery truly has some of the most unique artwork in the French Quarter! It has a certain atmosphere and mystique that just draws you in. Both the artist and the art director are always very friendly and willing to meet you where you’re at in terms of purchasing pieces.

I have bought 5 - 6 pieces of jewelry and some vintage sunglasses for my daughter and wife over the last few years! Everything is real and at a great deal. I just spoke with them today to check on their inventory for a Christmas gift for my daughter!

It should be terrific and maybe once was. A brilliant brewery building with touristy stores and open spaces for retail and open spaces for closed restaurants.

George Rodrigue Studios on Royal Street is great. If you are not familiar with his work, look it up. I have a couple of his artworks and if you want to see more, visit the Blue Dog Café in Lafayette, LA, awesome food and you see all his original works of the walls of the café.

You can always tell when you have entered an expensive shopping mall when they have large men with walkie talkies on the door. Saks, Tiffany, Vuitton need I say more - you need a licence to SPEND!

Arthur, the godfather of Julia Street art world, has a fantastic space worth a visit any day you have time for it in New Orleans. While NOMA, the Ogden, and the CAC all house significant collections, Arthur’s exhibitions all have the wonderful potential for being more permanent installations in your home. He has an eye for identifying, developing and exhibiting those who will be known in the future for exemplifying the best of New Orleans art. At the current time (and I am slightly biased towards this artist), Nicole Charbonnet has an exhibition of true genius level up. “Dragons, Dinosaurs, Divinations and other Epiphanies” in general exhibits works which will bring the brain to new areas. Her use of negative space in the work “Hiyo” is just one example of her technical brilliance. My favorite work in the collection is the relatively monumental work, “Starry Night No. 2”, to me, brings out a favorable comparison to Takashi Murakami’s exhibit in 2017 at MFA Boston. The other artists are also worthy, and can bring out memories/impressions you would not expect. I encourage you, if you are in New Orleans, to go see Arthur’s gallery. Enjoy.

We visited so many galleries during our week in NOLA, this was one of our favorites. Jamie really took her time to understand what we were interested in.
Lots of reasonable priced local contemporary art to be found here.
