There is an overlooking garden which is well maintained.
As a foreigner one is not allowed in the main temple but we are fortunate to witness the ceremony sometimes.
The distance from kuta is about 2 to 2.5 hours one way. There are various pathways in the Park gardens that provides ample opportunities to see the butterflies. The Park is lush with foliage and plants which provides a nice habitat. There are 2 cash ATM on the main high way road turn off, as well as 2 mini marts for all your basic needs. Its a 20 minute walk from the beach to the main road turn off. If you are travelling with little ones you might need a push chair as there is small steep hill to get to the beach. Handful of restaurants which are all good and have a variety of different foods from local to pizza/burgers. Istana was our favourite for meals. The beach is large and un crowed but be careful re water as its a surf beach and has rips etc. Recommend you stay where there is a pool. We stayed Balian Breeze villa which was perfect for families.
