- carpediem2019New York City, NY107 contributionsIntimate, independent-cinema oriented cinema. Wished they had more screening rooms. Foreign film programming is very good, especially for those of us who want to keep up with the Cannes Festival winners. I hope they will eventually replace oldies with more contemporary films, competing with IFC and Film and Lincoln Center's selections.Written 14 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - The Mills TwinsWrexham, UK599 contributionsWe came here to see the French Dispatch by Wes Anderson late on a Tuesday evening. The cinema itself is in what appears to be the basement of a largely empty shopping centre but once inside it's very well set out and clean. We ordered online for both our tickets and the food which was expensive but not awful for a treat. If you plan to come all the time it may be best not to get any food. We were able to sit down and were given instructions on how to order. I explained we had already booked online and our server went to get our food right away. It was all very nice, particularly the pretzel and the queso although the pizza was a little too soggy. Coffee was a tiny expresso which I was quite disappointed with as it cost upwards of $4. The movie itself was great and the staff all very friendly and helpful.Written 24 November 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sara MayBrooklyn, NY1 contributionDirty but decent if you’re just trying to watch a movie and leave. Popcorn was okay until I got home and puked it all up! I thought it was a one time thing but the other three times I went after this experience, I also puked. Didn’t realize it was the popcorn that was making me puke until I searched it up and other people experienced the same thing. Clean this place up!Written 26 June 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- dmacnmiTroy, MI987 contributionsDecent theater. Updated seating. We saw Minions: The Rise of Gru in a sold out theater. Concessions and theater staff were polite. Prices are comparable to other theaters.Written 8 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- JLeslie22Milton, MA239 contributionsNitehawk Cinema looks small from the outside, and you'd think it might not show first-run movies, but it does all that and more. We were greeted by a bar and bartender when we walked into the lobby, and there are a few tables and seats in the lobby to enjoy a drink and watch passersby. We went up to our assigned theater, chose our seats, and a server came over to tell us how things work and take our order. There's a menu with a wide array of food, themed cocktails, wine & beer, and during the movie you can place orders by writing out what you want and placing the paper in a special holder. The seats are large and comfortable, and the cocktails were very tasty. You can pay in advance (like an open tab in a bar) when you order your tickets or pay at the end of the movie. And, there is a full bar with tables and chairs on the second level for those who want to extend their time out before or after the movie! There is a Tuesday afternoon time slot for parents with infants, movies for kids, themes for time of year, film series, a film shorts festival, movie trivia nights at the upstairs bar, and movies accompanied by live music. This place has it all. I am not usually a movie goer but Nitehawk Cinema would change me if I lived closer (unfortunately, we're 3 hours away).Written 17 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Judene B6 contributionsI've been going to this theater for many years, and CANNOT understand why there isn't more than ONE person at ticket booth when the theater opens, ESPECIALLY on Friday for new releases!
This is a neighborhood theater and is utilized by ALL! Seniors, families, schools and camps all patronize this theater. Hire enough staff to accommodate your patrons.
The price of the tickets and snacks are High Enough to employ the proper amount of staff.
We are not going to keep returning to be disappointed with sub standard service.
