What travellers are saying
- Eileen108Mount Shasta, CA5,116 contributionsSo tranquil and not crowded, it is really like stepping back hundreds of years. Wonderful objects of art and relics from the past, I really enjoyed my visit!Written 1 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SwedishtomcatDiss, UK4,524 contributionsBrilliant look into the history of living in Lower East Side. Each tenement represents a different era, however, they are separately-priced tours. Ben the guide gave a passionate tour of the 1950-70s apartment. It’s advisable to book at least 24hrs in advance to get the tour you want at the time you want otherwise you’re only offered what’s left on the day.Written 7 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SwedishtomcatDiss, UK4,524 contributionsHaving caught the ferry to Roosevelt Island, it was fun to return to Manhattan on the cable car. Takes under five minutes and the price is the same as a ride on the subway.Written 7 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lynn ISan Francisco, CA45 contributionsSmall museum of historic value, well worth a visit. So glad we saw these beautiful rooms with an amazing personal collection of priceless artifacts, paintings, and books. After having read Susan Orleans‘s book, The Library Book, it was especially interesting to me. Make sure you join one of the free tours with a docent!Written 29 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Maree H1 contributionThis place was amazing. Very moving and really well done. Very respectful. Can't believe I got to hold things that were kept from 9/11. - brienanniKita, Mali254 contributionsThis is an amazing collection, three magnificent Vermeer's kick off the visit, intimately displayed in room of their own. You can visit the whole museum in 1-2 hours, so you don't get overfed with art. I actually enjoyed this more than the big ones.Written 17 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - mshapiro99Sterling, VA1,423 contributionsVery cool island in the middle of the East River between Queens and Manhattan. Accessible via tramway or by crossing a bridge on food, and serviced by a ferry system between Queens and Roosevelt island.Written 5 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Gina B2 contributionsI highly recommend visiting this museum. This is perfect for anyone who loves architecture, history, beauty, art. I enjoyed the docent-led tour and learning about how the church was saved from ruin. If you plan to do any tours at the Tenement Museum this place is only a 9-minute walk from that museum. After your tour here you can explore Chinatown and Little Italy.Written 30 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Thomas VOakland, CA17,757 contributionsWe had dinner here, and it is a great neighborhood for restaurant searches. All sorts of cuisines, formal and informal,, lots of outdoor seating. There is also a lot of charm here, narrow tree-lined streets with attractive row houses and apartment buildings. Well-served by the subway system. Stroll around, especially on a warm evening.Written 26 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- lde457257 contributionsA simple but pleasing church. - FarwriterLondon, UK134 contributionsLovely grounds to wander around if you are in the area. Guided tours are available but I didn't do one of those. Worth visiting for the beautiful St Paul's Chapel (NOT the one in lower Manhattan) which has a stunning ceramic tiled domed ceiling.Written 22 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SwedishtomcatDiss, UK4,524 contributionsOnly one family has ever lived in this property before it became a museum. There’s an expert guide in each room to help explain the history. It is as if it was left exactly how it was the day the Brewsters moved out in 1936.Written 7 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SJE99Melbourne, Australia922 contributionsThis was a lovely part of Central Park and excellent to see. It has good views of the park and the skyline of the area surrounding that part of the park. It is worth visiting.Written 7 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- FIL MLondon, UK661 contributionsWe literally followed the music. We could hear the most amazing soulful and powerful music and we had to figure out where it was coming from. We only stayed for a short time due to time contraints, however was well worth a visit. The spiritual music was truly beautiful and awe-inspiring.Written 10 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - lucycanSan Diego, CA3,615 contributionsThis is a long (couple miles) and skinny (2-4 blocks) wide park on the west side of Manhattan. It has dog parks, playgrounds, gardens and much more. Its MUCH quieter than Central Park but maybe not as fun. Certainly great to people watch.Written 8 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
