- VinnyDPastelLake Worth, FL4 contributionsIt was a very good trip, I mean it was free, so that's always a plus. The view was amazing, I got to have clear cut photos of the Statue of Liberty. The ocean breeze was so nice, it was decently clean, the wait for the Ferry wasn't so bad either (only about 15 minutes). The only negative I had was that I had to wait an extra 20 minutes because of a "technical issue" which sucked but I'm sure it doesn't happen often. Other than that it was a good quality trip to get me from point A to point B.Written 2 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - psudinoWeehawken, NJ4,429 contributionsMy son had a day off from school so I took the day off from work and got us tickets to the Intrepid so he wasn't home all day staring at a screen. I never take the ferry across the river because the train or the tunnel (if driving) are much more convenient and cheaper. The downtown stop is a better stop closer to the action but the midtown stop is only good if you are going to Javitz or the Intrepid.
The cost is too much, the journey is on a less frequent schedule than the train and the parking at Port Imperial is also too much.
So yeah, if this is your first time or if you are a local showing someone the city, this is a nice journey. If you want in and out quickly, take a train.Written 19 September 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The terminal is pretty gritty and not worth a visit. Avoid.Written 14 November 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mary D1 contributionThe ferry is AWESOME! $5 and you have great views of NYC and the skyline, plan your trip to the Rockaways and stop at the Rockaway Hotel for an aperitif, dinner or a luncheon on the roof! Just be sure to stay sober enough to catch the last ferry back to the city or it is a long subway ride back to Wall St. Highly recommend!Written 2 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jessica1 contributionI am not sure if we got scammed because it was the weekend or if this is legit Monday - Friday! But we bought tickets on Saturday and the whole place was shut up!
The ticket men did a good job at selling them to us and convinced us it was too foggy to see the Statue of Liberty on the free staton island ferry!
They shipped us off on a ferry ( a group of 20) and dumped us in New Jersey! The shuttle bus sped off as quick as he could. We had to get an Uber back!
DO NOT BUY TICKETS FOR THIS BOAT!Written 17 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
