What travellers are saying
- Hayley56 contributionsAmazing way of seeing the Statue of Liberty without paying to see it. It was really quick and easy getting onto the ferry and we had a brilliant view from either side of the boat. On the way to Staten Island sit on the right side of the boat to see the Statue of Liberty. Would absolutely recommend doing this if you don’t want to pay anything to see the statue! You also get a stunning view of Manhattan and all the skyscrapers.Written 14 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tanjir Ratul3 contributionsIt was adventurous yet relaxing. Would highly recommend to anyone who never been to this tramway trip. You can just walk on the island for a while with your loved one until coming back to chaotic main city lifeWritten 22 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Courtney TNewark, OH82 contributionsDon't be scared if you are from our of town. Download the subway app and use the map to navigate. All the lines are color coded and the map is easy to read. It is cheap and gets you places quickly. If you are unsure the attendants are helpful. We have rode the subway several times in Manhattan and people have always been friendly. Yes you will likey see a few homeless people.Written 22 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- AldebaranFloridaClearwater, FL4,549 contributionsWe took the NY ferry a few times while visiting the city and enjoyed it. The views from the water of the cityscape are incredible. We took ferry rides during the week and there were no lines and the ferries were on time.Written 16 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Noah Kirsch4 contributionsVinny and his team took care of my dad who had to get from Manhattan to the Berkshires after back surgery and provided impeccable service. Great guys. - DanThe Hague, The Netherlands9,246 contributionsGood and fast way to get from Jersey City to NYC, as we did on a daily basis. The ticket machines are a nightmare, as you need to enter the postcode of your credit card.
A member of staff had to explain that, but there’s no sense entering a vice dixit postcode if you’re not from the US. To bypass this, you can enter five zeros.
We had to use the ticket machines, because you cannot tap your contactless card when using a stroller to pass the barriers. Multiple credit cards got rekeyed, and only worked after multiple attempts of buying tickets. Recommend to use cash if you’re in a hurry and need a single ticket, because buying with a credit card is a lengthy process. The ticket you buy, gets ‘eaten’ by the machine if you use it to pass the barrier. Making the whole ticket buying process for PATH a very red tape thing to do.
Other than that we had no troubles with PATH, part from elevators not working.Written 21 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I booked with Kelsey in the office, and she was so helpful and took the time to answer all of my questions about the trip. I took my grandkids to NYC for the first time and wanted it to be a special trip. Alex was a driver, and he was professional and met us as soon as we had gotten our luggage. Our flight was over an hour late. When I let him know he said not to worry that he would be there for us. Awesome experience all around.Written 22 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- sloping_fungusDublin, Ireland126 contributionsUsed the Port Authority to get the bus to Jersey Gardens. Thankfully I’ve been many times before so knew what type of ticket I was looking for but there were several others who were not familiar and were “assisted” in making their purchase form the ticket machines. The issue was the “assistant” was not employed by the PA and made people feel uncomfortable by asking for a tip. I feel that the PA should have customer service staff at each door to prevent this from happeningWritten 18 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sharon IStanmore, UK134 contributionsI’m going from NY to Niagara Canadian side. The info said be at the station 60 mins b4 departure. The train should be 7.15am. The only thru train. I arrived at 6am struggling with loads of luggage as I’d come off a cruise. There are no carts and no porters to help. I had to go business class because of my luggage and I mistakenly thought the cases would be checked in like in a plane! No such luck. Also it wasn’t necessary to get there that early and as it happened we were delayed 45 mins. I had to struggle the whole length of the train to get to the carriage and there was nobody to help me lift my cases onto the train. The ‘cafe’ on the train was manned by the most surly man I think I have ever met. Not a smoke or acknowledgement and at every change went to sit down. He was only about 40! Carriage and seating very tired and dirty. Oh and if you are going to Canada you actually need a PRINTED copy of your ticket. One good thing - the WiFi on board is good!Written 17 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- The Five Road Trippers 🚙🎡🎢🧳Long Island, NY16,048 contributionsI had an early morning flight out of LaGuardia. A late model Lexus was sent as my ride. Driver was safe and drove very courteously. My ride was scheduled for 4:20am, driver arrived at 4am. Much appreciated!Written 27 June 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SummerFamilyVacationHouston, TX27 contributionsPickup from JFK airport to hotel. Pickup Instructions given not clear. Pickup driver did not greet, just grabbed suitcase to put in trunk. He did not speak with us at all and did not ask for drop off verification. He was taking personal calls while driving and looking at phone while on road . “Due to traffic,” he told my family that we would have to walk 1/2 to 1 block to get to hotel and that is what he did. Looking at situation he could have dropped us off in front of hotel. Very disappointed at lack of professionalism. Also used company for hotel to JFK drop off. Same thing. Different driver did not even greet. Again, he did not verify drop off location. Not happy.Written 9 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
