- Fariborz FFlorham Park, NJ8 contributionsA beautiful place to visit, with a fantastic collection, lovely grounds, and excellent views of the Hudson River and the GW bridge. The cafe on-site is a great place to unwind. The Unicorn Tapestries are truly gorgeous, and live up to the "hype". Plan to arrive early. Parking is free but limited. Then you have good places to sit and eat. Great views of the skyline and the harbor. And there are a couple of great museums here, plus some places to eat and drink. The well maintained flower beds,specimen trees and shrubs snd well maintained walks make this a great spot to relax and recharge. Many young families pushing carriages, school children after their hours snd bus loads of visitors flock here. - therichastillStevenage, UK3,210 contributionsIn the shadow of Belvedere Castle is Shakespeare Garden. I discovered it by accident but I was glad I did. It is a small well tended area with a variety of different flowers growing. Whilst I was there a number of volunteers were working to make the garden look nice which was good to see.
When I visited there were still some things to see even though it was not the season for flowers in bloom.

Tried to find/use elevator, but it was not accessible due to construction. It’s free to visit on Sundays 1:00-4:00, April-November. Talk to one of the volunteers to get the whole story. A number of short, but curved paths taking maximum advantage of the limited space. Lots of different flowers and bushes with many benches and seats. 'B' for Botanical
We call it a botanical garden because that's the traditional name for a garden where visitors come to learn about lots of plants from lots of places. The garden includes hundreds of plants, native plants as well as many that were immigrants to New York-- and that makes our garden a lot like our community.
'C' for Community
Unlike many other botanical gardens, 6BC is also a community garden: East Villagers, all volunteers, started building it on a rubble-strewn empty lot in the early 1980s.
Since then, our garden's story, like our neighborhood's, has been one of constant challenge and change.
Today, after a period in which 6BC's survival, like that of other New York community gardens, was threatened by the city's exploding development, our garden's land has been permanently set aside for public use as part of the New York City Parks system.

If you miss the tulips, summer flowers follow in this beautiful Upper Westside Oasis.

Central Park is a massive beautiful park always filled with energy and positive vibes.
