The Brooklyn Bridge is one of New York City's most iconic landmarks, featured in countless movies and TV shows. It's a stunning bridge to walk across, offering incredible views of the skyline and the East River. The walk can be a bit long, but if you're up for it, it's definitely fun and rewarding—just be prepared for some crowds and a bit of exercise. Whether you're a tourist or a local, crossing the bridge is a memorable experience with breathtaking photo opportunities.

While I did not walk on the bridge, could view it from many vantage points on Brooklyn Bridge. The bridge is beautiful and the surroundings add to its beauty.

A very important link between New Jersey and New York. It carries I-95 and links New England with the Mid-Atlantic states. As a result, this bridge is often clogged with traffic especially as you travel East and into the very congest Cross-Bronx Expressway. The bridge is big and is high above the Hudson River.

NYC is nothing if not a city of iconic bridges; Manhattan, Brooklyn, and believe it or not the Williamsburg can be counted among them.

Much like the others, the Williamsburg Bridge is a massive structure connecting Manhattan with Williamsburg (which I learned is technically a part of Brooklyn).

We walked our way from one end to the other, and it's incredibly pedestrian and bike friendly. Countless people run, walk, and bike across this bridge daily. To say nothing of the cars and trains that also pass through. Once we reached Williamsburg, we headed down to Domino Park and stared in awe at the enormous metal structure we'd just crossed.

Whether it's this bridge or another, I think it's important you walk across a bridge in New York and take in its entirely unique perspective. These are the constructions that made this city what it is today; a vast metropolis with several important arteries that feed people into the heart.

Built in 1909 and connecting Manhattan to Queens, this is yet another impressive and historic bridge that you will find in New York. It is now the Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge named after the former long serving and charismatic mayor. Great views of the bridge as you stroll along the walking path on the East River. There is also a dedicated lane for pedestrians and bikes on the bridge. Making the bridge unique is the adjacent Roosevelt Island Tram that travels alongside.

Beautiful and much photographed bridge in Central Park. Built in 1862, this Victorian-era bridge is the second oldest cast iron bridge in the United States. It has been included in countless films and the image of rowboats passing underneath on The Lake is so serene.

I went here with a friend and we walked half-way across the bridge. There are good views of the Harlem River but it is difficult to take pictures due to the tall chain-link fencing on each side. The pavement design changes mid-way across indicating the division like between Manhattan and The Bronx. It's a good place for a walk on a nice day.

Gapstow Bridge is iconic. It welcomes you to Central Park. Beautiful and historic. I’ve seen it in so many movies and in person it’s even better. Highly recommended!

I was working in Westchester County and wanted to bypass the traffic on the Cross Bronx Expressway. Not the most scenic of the crossings. Crossing was much faster than the other two Bronx bound bridges.

The Wards Island Pedestrian Bridge can be seen from the F.D.R. Drive, going in both directions. It occasionally raises to let a ship pass under.

We saw this bridge over the river on our boat tour of Manhattan. I was once an essential link of the island to the rest of New York, but has now been surpassed by other bridges that carry much more traffic.

It was one of those days, I had to work in Westchester. Crossing the bridge late morning, there was still traffic - crazy. Construction is still going on.

The tunnel is the most direct route to midtown. On the other hand frugal guys like myself bypass the tunnel by getting off the Long Island Expressway @ Van Dam Street. Then take the local streets and cross the Queensboro Bridge to avoid the toll at the tunnel.

I use the tunnel as an early morning route, when my Jersey meetings are early. The tunnel is in great shape for it's age. When traveling from Long Island to West New York, NJ - you start on the Expressway, go through the QM tunnel, stay on 34th Street to the Lincoln Tunnel, and you're in Weehauken, NJ. Straight shot from Long Island to New Jersey.

Our GPS rerouted us down the Merritt Parkway to the Sawmill Parkway. Crossing over the bridge was easy during midday on Wednesday. Traffic was light and moved well towards the George Washington bridge. Great ride!!
