This street has great symbolic importance as the seat of US capitalism. Times have changed, some of the office buildings have been converted to apartments, and now people live here. The stock exchange and many banks are still here. It feels like a canyon as the street is narrow and the buildings are tall.

Be ready to see beautiful landmarks, famous old theater buildings, nice gift shops on a long way. It still charming, still safe street where you can feel art at its every corner.

Many, many years ago this area was the Fulton Fish Market, and my family came here on a tourist vacation. Since then, it has been redeveloped into a big tourist area with restaurants, bars, and a port theme. Some good food here, sone kitsch.

This isn't the Spanish Steps of Rome, but it comes close as a central meeting spot since you can't miss it. At the northern end of Times Square this is where the famous TKTS steps are located that everyone uses as the obvious meeting landmark.

Just to ad some useful trivia to this review to impress your friends, Francis Patrick Duffy was a Canadian American Catholic priest and military chaplain. During WWI he helped rescue many wounded soldiers.

Some of America's most famous families once made their homes on the Upper East Side of Manhattan in New York City in the early 1900s and developed their neighborhood into a beautiful and posh place to live. Now the area is all about the Museum Mile, which features eight of the world's most celebrated art museums that house some of the finest collections of art, history, design and culture from around the globe. Located in the Carnegie Hill neighborhood of the Upper East Side, along Fifth Avenue from 82nd Street to 105th Street, the Museum Mile includes the Museum for African Art that dates to 1984 and is currently holding its exhibitions and events in other New York City locations before moving to its new home at 1280 Fifth Avenue in East Harlem; El Museo del Barrio, New York City's only museum dedicated exclusively to Latin American and Latino art, which is located at the north end of Fifth Avenue's Museum Mile; Museum of the City of New York, which details the narrative of New York City from a small Dutch trading post to its status today as one of the world's most important cities; Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum, Smithsonian Institution, a branch of the Smithsonian Institution and the only museum in the United States devoted exclusively to historical and contemporary design; National Academy Museum and School, an honorary association of professional artists and a school of fine arts and a museum founded in 1825; Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, which was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and exhibits the best in 20th century art and contemporary art; Neue Galerie, the brainchild of art dealer Serge Sabarsky and philanthropist Ronald S. Lauder, which opened in 2001 to exhibit early 20th century German and Austrian art and design; Goethe-Institut New York, which provides a schedule of exhibitions, film screenings, performances and symposiums focusing on German language and culture; and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which was founded in 1870 and is often considered the best museum in New York City.

It was surreal to be walking along The Mall in Central Park. I’ve seen this so many times in movies and it was just like being in a movie. Beautiful and alive with NYC energy. Highly recommended!

I went here with a friend and we walked half-way across the bridge. There are good views of the Harlem River but it is difficult to take pictures due to the tall chain-link fencing on each side. The pavement design changes mid-way across indicating the division like between Manhattan and The Bronx. It's a good place for a walk on a nice day.

This is what I see as a "can't miss" area to visit in Central Park. On our day in March, the weather was perfect just for such a leisurely walk. From Wollman Ice Rink you can find it along the walk path after crossing East 66th/65th street.

Upon approaching you can find several statues on each side as well as down the wide walking path. Be sure to notice at the beginning the pavement features that show various celebrities and notable people who have contributed to the garden area nearby. They are little 6 sided emblems from people like Carly Simon of all people, as well as the dedication by the Central Park Conservancy.

As you continue your walk, please stop and admire the most recent statue addition: The Women's Rights Pioneers that shows Sojourner Truth, Susan B Anthony, and Elizabeth Cady Stanton.

Further up along the Walk, you will see to your right offset what looks like a small bandstand (half shell) in concrete. There is a very small plaque on it on lower right and dated 1923. The official name of it is the "Naumburg Bandshell" where they have performances during certain times of the year.

You do want to walk down this main avenue. It's wide and if it's late spring, summer, or better yet fall, no doubt the trees lining both sides will add to your enjoyment. They were leafless during our visit in March

After going into the Stonewall Inn, we took a stroll around and into the National Monument. I didn't have a cell phone on me, so I wasn't clear how much I missed by not being able to access the QR code on some of the photographs. I've seen these images for years in other contexts, and it was good to seem them on location. The park is small, and the whole monument takes ten minutes unless you want to sit and chat a bit. If you're in the village and have never checked out these famous spots, do so!

This quiet, non-commercial block is worth exploring. The well-kept beaux arts and art deco styled homes are in full display. Love the "islands" on some of the blocks including W94th Street where a statue of Joan of Arc is on horseback with a sword.

I went searching for this after reading some of the reviews on this website. It was quite hard to find and we walked straight past it the first time. It is located on a chain link fence at the corner of 7th Avenue and 11th Street.

We spent at least an hour reading the tiles and their beautiful messages after 9/11. I'd say this is the one thing not to miss out on when visiting NYC and it's completely free!!

It is easy to miss this plaza, but it is definitely worth stopping for a visit when you’re in the area.

We happened upon Shorakkopoch Rock as we were exploring the park, and wow, what a find. We enjoyed reading the history of the rock and it spurred a wonderful conversion and a fun dive into researching the area, this specific story and the subsequent result of what happened here. Highly recommend.
