What travellers are saying
- SteveAlison TPickering, Canada4 contributionsVery beautiful, modestly priced treasures. Loved it! Had beautiful Easter decorations and other things. Bought a beautiful jeweled hand bag. The only difficulty would be over spending as it was so hard to not purchase so many lovely things.Written 18 April 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - drbuckeyMiami, FL10 contributionsExperienced purveyors of better antiques. Find items not seen in most antique stores.
If you are a true lover of truly fine items you will be very pleased with their selection.Written 13 February 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. At this time they had a small boutique within the store which featured a tempting selection of antique jewellery. On one occasion I happened to meet one of the owners who introduced me to the Greenwich village location. Here, on East 12th Street, in an impressive building, Kentshire has eight floors dedicated to a large collection of antique furniture, accessories for the home and of course, antique jewellery. I love browsing to discover what new pieces have joined the galleries; there is no pressure to buy, which creates a pleasant atmosphere. I am not their best customer, having only purchased a couple of treasured items of jewellery but their warm welcome always makes me want to return.Written 28 October 2013This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jenn KFoxborough, MA4 contributionsI visited the 52nd St location looking for 1920s door hardware, a cast iron bracket for a wall hanging sink, and shelf brackets. There is a huge selection of door hardware. You could spend an hour going through smaller pieces such as keys and rosettes. An employee helped me sift through the items to find what I was looking for. The selection of knobs and face plates is well organized. I was looking for a full set cylinder thumb turn lock. There were numerous turns but not a full set with cylinder, strike plate, rosette, and turn. The store had me email the Scranton, PA warehouse, which found me a complete set within hours. The 52nd location had a wide variety of items from various eras, including beautiful old mantels and chandeliers. An employee gave me directions to the nearest subway station. A few minutes later, he realized there was a faster route and called me to give me new directions. I will definitely return again.Written 14 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Lauren CNew Jersey168 contributionsWe came across this store while thrift shopping in Chelsea and I’m so glad we did. The main storefront has a ton of vintage jewelry, almost all labeled with price, material, and decade. There’s a lot to choose from and it’s all well organized. Around the corner outside, down a small alley with a bunch of vintage mirrors, there is another store that has home goods, clothing, and more vintage finds. My group had a lot of fun exploring this little place, I’ll definitely be back.Written 22 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is the only store of its kind in New York City that specializes in dollhouses and furniture and accessories for the homes.
The store is broken down into buying the houses themselves which some of them are handcrafted. On one side of the store is all the artisan pieces like furniture and dolls and decorative items for the homes which are really detailed and on the other side is all the commercially made products that are just as nice but not as detailed. If you need something for a dollhouse, you will find it here or the owners will find it for you.
The prices vary especially in the handmade items. It is fun to get lost here on a rainy day.Written 17 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. They have a huge collection of new and preowned cameras & lenses and every accessory you might need(cables, adapters, camera bags etc.) The staff is well informed and friendly.
Overall this is the place to go for your photographic needs.Written 28 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It might’ve been the giraffe statue by the entrance, and it certainly was the appeal of seeing some work by local artists and crafters.
We walked in – and it was like a oasis after the normal New York bustle. We spent a happy half hour wandering around, talking to some of the vendors, and bought a few hand-crafted souvenirs that weren’t made in China. Everybody was pretty laid back and friendly. The variety was good, the prices were reasonable, and it was a nice way to kill a little time on our walk. Sometimes serendipity is the best tour guide.Written 31 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
