This was a wet Monday night in February at about 9pm and there was only about 20 people here with about 4 people able to belt it out. The piano guy was good as was the barmaid Maria. A few more people came in later and were also very good. Drinks are a little pricier than you would pay in a dive bar but whatever.

This is a very welcoming bar (even for breeders). It never fails that we strike up a conversation with a fellow patron. Everyone is here to enjoy themselves. It gets very packed but the bartenders are very attentive & will get you a drink in quick order. Keep in mind that it's cash only. They have a terrific jukebox that will keep you dancing (if you can find the space) all night.

I visited here with some friends when holidaying in NYC. Back home we have so many laws and regulations that it takes the fun out of partying, so to see naked guys walking around was kinda cool and liberating from our perspective. The guys here are looking for a hookup but you can easily lead the way to what you want out of your night.
The upstairs is like a normal bar but the down stairs has a dark section where sex on premise is permitted with lots of guys simply watching while copping a groap or feel of each other they are standing near.
Drinks are reasonably priced. 2x vodka soda and a carona coming to $20. There are go go boys dancing for tips with hands on permitted for extra dollars which some guys were quite happy to keep topping the money belt up.
Was an ok experience to say we've been here and it makes us realise how much of a nanny state we live in back home in Australia. It was a good night out.

This used to be one of my husband's favorite bars, but has dropped off a bit for the past few months. He's a country western sort of man and taught me how to 2 step here. The front bartender got to know us that as soon as he saw us walk in he began making our drinks w/o having to ask. He's gone and are hoping to build that relationship back up with the new guy in that spot. Another change is that they play a lot of pop & rock music now. All the other bars in the city play that and we loved that this place was different. The boys still get on the bar and dance to songs throughout the night and the people there are nice & friendly. There's about half women which isn't an issue for us, but is for some.

We visit family in NYC several times a year, and my wife is always disappointed when the family doesn't spend an enjoyable evening at Brandy's. Arrive by 9:30 as the tables fill up . The entertainers change nightly, however, the piano player, bartender and servers are all vocalists, some of whom have amazing voices. Requests taken. There is a two drink minimum, stick to well drinks as cocktails are subpar. We usually stay past midnight . The patrons are a diverse group and appreciative. No food is served. Tips are expected. It's understandable but unfortunate that the wonderful performances are not open to those under 21. We've never seen anyone stagger out or be asked to leave.

Small little gay bar with good music. They have a dance floor in the back and the bar is right as you walk in. The drinks were strong and well priced. The bartender was great to look at with his buff bod. The crowd was friendly and mixed. We went on a Monday when it was very cold out, so the bar wasn't that busy. We did stay and close it down at 4am.

Always a good time! Drinks were decent & the very young 20-30-ish crowd increased to a manageable size after 10. The sound system, however, was problematic at first, but the DJ eventually worked it out. As for the pool table, it would help if it was properly balanced so it didn't have to be tipped to retrieve balls & moved all the way to the back so that we could shoot pool all night.

This is a great place! The bar guys are super nice and the dance floor is good. It can get a little busy but that’s what you want really makes the evening just that little more exciting.

Stumbled across this venue late one evening, you need a reasonable standard of dress to be allowed into the Apartment, the décor is worth it. It's certainly not your typical bar, more of a gentlemans club arrangement. I have a feeling that given the extreme age differences in the place that the bar wasn't the only business arrangement going on. Indeed I had to turn down a couple of offers of a night out on the town with older gentlemen. Thank you Townhouse and thank you to the older gentlemen. Chivalry isn't dead.

This is clearly a unique place that I'd like to go back and explore more thoroughly. We popped in with no plan and didn't know what to expect. We walked into a tightly packed bar with a seated audience and a cluster of standing patrons around the back of the very small space. The whole front third of the bar was taken up by the most amazing full-scale gay brass band somehow jammed into an impossible small space with multiple guest singers, and a whole remarkable section of trombones. It was almost Seussian in the unexpected nature of walking into this kind of space and seeing those trombones. Unfortunately, we couldn't stay, sit, or get a drink because it was too crowded and we were too late. We will plan better next time.

I went at this place yesterday 01/19 and 10 minutes after I arrived and drank a beer, I went outside for smoke and the guy at the door (I guess "security") said I couldn't come back inside because I looked too drunk, and that was definitely not the case since I had just arrived. I told him I had my husband inside, and a lot of friends, my cellphone was with them, my coat, my passport, and he said "it was not his problem". It took a while for my husband to go check what was happening and rescue me outside, after which we had to leave our friends behind. I am sure if that was a straight party and I had left my girlfriend it would be treated differently. The guy even refused to tell me his name, that only indicates he knew he was wrong and just wanted to exert his little power over me. Nobody at the bar tried to help. THE STAFF IS *NOT* GAY-FRIENDLY

Upon approach, in the very dark meat packing district, is a simple sign that reads, "HELL". Once inside you have to allow your eyes to adjust to the darkness. HELL is surprisingly comfortable and cozy with its velvet curtains, abundance of candles and campy celebrity photos with horns or halos (who decided?). The staff is fun and attentive, the music is loud and bumping and the drinks are amazing... This is one of my favorite destinations in NYC...So, if someone in NYC tells you to go to HELL...do it!
