This is part of the National Park area. There is parking, come early! There is a fee for use, $5.
After talking with the rangers and watching a few kayaks launch, we headed out.
The trail is well maintained with boardwalks, stairs and bridges.
After about 1.8 miles, you get your 1st view of the sea caves. Beautiful to see it above.
Total we hiked 4 miles out and back.

A very interesting water experience. The captain was entertaining about the facts and lore of the Apostle Islands . The view from the ship was great.

Friendly service from one of the Hauser family. We just went in to sample the ciders as part of the Wisconsin Winery Co-op Tour and enjoyed their 4 hard ciders.

One of those gems found in small towns across the country. The museum is packed with maritime artifacts and displays about local history. The museum also teaches traditional boatbuilding onsite.

This is a great distillery in Red Cliff! Very short drive from Bayfield.
We brought our lunch and bought drinks.
Their menu for the fall is wonderful. A new mix on the old favorites. Try the Old Fashioned honey and sage. Yummy

We went here on The Fruit Loop, and picked blueberries. It didn't take us very long as they were plentiful, and we had a nice time.

Cute little shop with lots of jams, jellies, etc. made right at the farm. The chocolates were amazing too! Great customer service, and my son thoroughly loved playing with the adorable dog. Highly recommend especially when apple harvest begins!

I didn't even suspect such an awesome preserve could be hiding literally within city of Bayfield limits. The Big Ravine Preserve actually contains several trails. The ravine itself is very deep and has steep sloes, almost resembling a box canyon in places. There is rich diversity of plant life, and I suspect the animal life is as rich. The place is very cool on a hot summer day, due to the very thick canopy of trees. Bayfield area is known for its nature awesomeness, but this stands out even on that background.

We stayed at Seagull Bay so we used this Trail to go into town every day. It was much nicer than taking the streets which we did one time. No hills on The Brownstone Trail haha! It is still closed right when you get below the motel. So we didn't go the opposite direction. But it was convenient (and shaded!) for what we needed it for. No pretty views, just an easier no traffic way to the shops and restaurants.

Met up with family from Northern Ohio staying at Pikes Bay Marina for a good part of summer. Beautiful location and pristine marina with all the appointments you would expect. Neat as a pin everywhere you look. Many sailing vessels, but also many power boats. Everyone seemed friendly and the marina staff friendly, knowledgable and helpful.

It is a beautiful building made from locally quarried brownstone. When the county seat was changed in about the 1880s Bayfield would not give up its record and they had to be seized by a night time raiding party from Washburn.

We have been here in the past when it was Seven Ponds winery and had a ho-hum experience. It has since been purchased, updated, and changed for the better. The ciders were very good. My favorite was the ginger cider - although I found it to be much better on tap than in the bottles we took home. The cidery has a beautiful deck area with a lovely view of the countryside. We had a lovely visit, and now with better product, we would be likely to visit again!

An awesome little local museum nestled in the hills near downtown Bayfield. We had a delightful visit with the docent. She was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The exhibits were very interesting about the history of the area and quite extensive as well. The entire place can be seen in about an hour. Be sure to see the train display in the basement! That was the highlight of our visit! Oh, and the barbershop too!
