I was given an used bike that needed some fixing up. Friends had suggested other places in the city but it would involve me pushing a flat tired bike 30 minutes. While random googling I found this place within 10 minutes walking distance! I called on a Saturday and was told they are open Sunday at noon. I pushed my bike out and waited a little as Michael helped the guy in front of me first. When it came to my turn, I told him the situation and he helped me fix up the bike. It took over an hour but with new basket, handle bars, pumped up tires, straightened wheels, it only cost me $40! This is great value considering where this place is. While Michael worked on my bike, we chatted everything from his experiences to living in the city. You do have to realize this is a non-profit, he is not doing this for money so do expect to wait. While waiting, I saw lots of people not willing to wait and left. He is able to fix bike, take bike donation and have bike rental in one small hut.
I also inquired about mountain bike rental, which he does have. We can rent on Saturday and return on Sunday if we have an enclosed garage and he will provide locks. They are open just on the weekends now so do call before you go. Overall I am very excited to get my "new" bike!
