What travellers are saying
- NonelessNewcastle, Australia29 contributionsNot a large area but there are so many hidden gems for photography. Every section could be photographed from multiple angles and every photo would be great. Some extra pretty sections. Worth visiting. The Tea House itself was very pleasant, with friendly staff and delicious offerings. Highly recommend.Written 19 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- FernandesCalifornia4 contributionsThis is what i call a walk in the park. Well managed, accessible, and extremely beautiful for a botanical enthusiast like me. It's great to see plants across continents. Cool place to spend time observing the life out here.Written 21 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - xcschlrMilwaukee, WI967 contributionsThis greenhouse has many unusual and beautiful flowers and is in some ways more exciting to visit than the Botanical Garden nearby. It takes less than 30 minutes to visit all the parts, one can walk from either the Botanical Garden or Japanese Tea Garden to the greenhouse quite easily.Written 15 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Adventure DivaManchester, CT2,789 contributionsThese gardens were designed to reflect northern Calironia "flora and fauna." Also, murals, statues and more tell many stories about the local culture.Written 19 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Peter ZGuelph, Canada93 contributionsThis is one of a few painted steps in San Francisco and we really wanted to see them. We took the N bus to the corner of 16th and Irving and walked uphill the couple blocks to the painted steps. Further uphill there is a secondary steps. Took lots of photos then made our way down to the main part to see Japanese Gardens and Botanical Gardens. A good bit of walking but fun.Written 15 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Maureen51311Coachella, CA7 contributionsThis is a nice detour after visiting the Sutro Baths. Was disappointed there were no tulips, but still had beautiful flowers and a nice grassy area where people could have a picnic.Written 30 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - gl0baltr0tterShanghai, China1,458 contributionsPretty garden when tulips are in full bloom, in front of a wooden windmill replica. You could imagine that you have been transported to the Netherland, but then the sight and sound of the Pacific ocean brings you right back.Written 24 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - jehenson81Washington DC, DC25,947 contributionsThis garden sits right next to the California Academy of Science on the Western side. It is a quaint little spot even in the rain. The only fault I could find is that there was no pathway from the entrance area to the Shakespeare bust unless it was in the area roped off due to replanting. I think on a sunny day it would be a lovely place to sit under the shade of trees.Written 14 March 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Thomas VOakland, CA18,860 contributionsThis is a pretty park in a swank neighborhood. Because of its altitude, it is a good place to get some views of various parts of the city. Lots of people out walking their dogs.Written 8 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- AB_USDallas, TX423 contributionsGorgeous Rose garden in the middle of the Golden Gate Park. Large variety of beautiful roses. Garden is easily accessible via public transportation and in walking distance to other attractions from the Park.Written 31 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - minimize940314Los Angeles, CA3,541 contributionsI stopped by Fay park on the way to Lombard street. It is tiny, but pretty. There are beautiful flowers though.Written 28 June 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Pavel BOslo, Norway91 contributionsVery nice little garden on several levels, and the new innovative garden on the flat roof of the bus terminal is very close.Written 29 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sarah SSan Francisco, CA6 contributionsA "must see" from July through October when the blooms are off the charts (Aug. and Sept. is the peak time). It's location makes it a perfect stop near the Conservatory of Flowers, AIDS Grove, deYoung, etc. Run entirely by the all-volunteer SF Dahlia Society. The dahlia is the official flower of the city of San Francisco. Absolutely worth the effort. Added bonus: It's free and part of a lovely stroll in a scenic part of GG Park.Written 5 October 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
