This is a historic theatre with lots of atmosphere, original furnishings, to make you feel like stepping back in time in style. It's actually big, so that a balcony seat won't make you feel close or allow for artists' close up views (you have to pay up). We attended a rock concert and the audience was ecstatic, dancing on their spots half of the time. The bar lounge has comfy sofa's to hang and look around and down. Artists are surprised and elevated, and so is the audience; like sitting in a large movie theatre, intimate, yet grand.

Still hanging on in the middle of the general decline. The Target store is still a good place to shop and the multiplex theater is a good place to see a show. There is a food court with locally-based restaurants. This downtown mall is well-placed when San Francisco revives as people come back to work.

We went to see the new Star Wars movie. Our seats were row 2 which I felt was a little too close to the screen. Looking up to watch the film. We had eaten before coming so just ordered drinks and pop corn from our seats. Staff were attentive throughout the film collecting orders and serving food and drink during the film.

AMC is my theater chain of choice, so I had to check out the premiere AMC in San Fransisco when visiting! In typical “big city” theater fashion, it can be a tad bit confusing to figure out how to get up to the theater at night when the mall is closed. Our only disappointment with this AMC is unfortunately the staff - the showtimes on the app didn’t jive with the showtimes displayed and no one could answer our question on when the movie actually started. The concession stand was just as much of a mess with no one paying attention to the A-List line and more people hanging out behind the counter than working. That all being said, once we actually got into the theater the experience was great. Perfect IMAX picture and sound on one of the largest IMAX screens in the country. A clean theater, hallway and restrooms also. Overall a good experience!

I went to Roxie Cinema, which is a historic independent movie theater in the Mission District. They were having a special movie called: Fantastic Fungi.

The theater is on 16th Street.

We went there to see the new "West Side Story" movie. On the plus side, there is protected public parking nearby, it's easy to buy a ticket, and the staff was friendly. But it has the feel of a 2000s movie theater that has simply been over-used. While this speak well of its popularity, compared to comparable theaters it was kind of "meh."

Knew that some theaters have a Tuesday reduced prices and since I was staying in downtown checked out the prices on fandango and sure enuf this place had the deals for Cinemark members. It’s located on the top floor of the Westfield mall on market st.

I am bored of gimmicks in cinemas such as reclining chairs that do not recline as much as you would like. The ticket prices are double what they were and you are not paying for much more.

So, AMC Van Ness wins hands down because it hasn't done this. It still has an art deco feel about it. I saw Mary Poppins here and the sound was excellent the screen was a good size.

The only down side? There are very few staff working here on concessions, so be prepared to wait. Otherwise, it's great!

It's nice going to the theatre to see movies, but it's hard to call it the big screen at this theatre, where it's been cut down to size. But for $5 Tuesdays, it's a good deal.

For the price we have payed for this B & B, we would have expected cleaner rooms. No matter what the owner's story in the 60s and 70s was, she is responsible for a clean bathroom and bed as well as a good breakfast. Both aspects did not meet our expectations. The toilet in the bathroom was not flushed as we arrived in the evening, hairs were spread in the shower and on the floor, most probable owned by our predecessors. Moreover, the room and the whole B & B is a little bit smelly.
Regarding the breakfast: As we booked the room, breakfast was included in the rate of 120 $ per night. But we learned that only one coffee/tea and a item as a bagle or granola is included. All additional items need to be purchased.

Concluding, the B & B is not worth that rate that has to be payed. And to all who say "but then you can not get to know Semi Sunchild and her Hippie experience", we would like to respond: come and see her at breakfast e. g. on weekends and talk to her. It's for free and you stay in another hotel.
