Yes it’s a tourist trap and a little pricey…but it’s worth visiting. If nothing else to see the sea lions! But it had great views of Alcatraz, lots of little shops to explore, and had a tacky carnival vibe. It shouldn’t be the only thing you do on a visit to SF, but drop in and check it out. There’s decent food options, plenty to walk and see, and nice ocean breezes.
Leisurely stroll through Chinatown on our way to the Wharf. Always interesting to see the daily food markets as well as the shops and restaurants. It's the largest Chinatown I've seen with many restaurants and interesting points of interest
You must take a long walk along the Embarcadero, especially toward the south, under the Bay Bridge and to the Ball Park. You will find great water views, some good places to eat and drink and some great outdoor art. The sidewalk is broad and you will have a lot of company walking, skating, etc. Great way to see the city.
Loved the markets, the ambiance and the food! The murals and little shops along Valencia ave. There are shops filled with everything you can imagine - from bracelets to incredible chocolates. Mexican, Venezuelan, to Colombian…
I've come here to go to my fitness center, and I have grown to love it as a genuine neighborhood with its own flavor. It is a bit challenging to get to because there is the very steep hill. But the buses and cable cars will help you. You will find the great cathedral and some magnificent hotels, plus some beautiful apartments.
As the name denotes, it is a shoreline district in the north of San Francisco. It is known by the picturesque marina (daytime is preferred), the ocean, the boats, the Golden Gate Bridge, and the Fine Arts Palace (free entry).
I love North Beach so much. It's an amazing neighborhood with lots of tourism and restaurants. Lots of little cafes and restaurants, and Washington Park is really nice.
Walk up to the top and visit Coit Tower, especially the great mural inside. The views from the top of the hill of the Bay and downtown are superb. The neighborhood around is special and real.
One of the wealthiest neighborhoods in the City. And the rich know how to live, so you will find lovely houses (some Victorians) and grand apartment buildings. There have always been great independent upscale neighborhood restaurants here. A pretty part of town where you will feel safe.
This is one of the city's gems, a beautiful park on the beautiful Bay. Some folks come here to swim in the very cold water, God bless them. Come and enjoy the views, including the Bridge.
It is a notable neighborhood and it includes nice streets and some of them are of visit attraction. The most popular streets are Lombard Street and Union Street. It is close to Little Italy as well.
