View at the top is gorgeous. 360 degree view of pier and SF city. However, when I was there, the lift is out of service. So need to climb 13 stories to the top. Not recommended for senior or physicsl challenge travellers

City Hall is my go-to location for taking my client's photos. While it's known for weddings and engagements, the lighting and architecture at City Hall make it an ideal setting for any type of photo. The only downside is that it's closed to the public on weekends.

Famous skyscraper and the most recognizable building of the San Francisco skyline. Located in the Finacial District and near Chinatown. I love the view as you travel on the cable car down Washington street.

I treated myself to a holiday weekend visit that included a performance of the San Francisco Ballet's Nutcracker, held at this historic city venue.

The Opera House, and Civic Center itself, were done up in holiday finery and looked right out of a winter wonderland. The beautiful performance was simply icing on the (Christmas) cake.

Looking forward to a return in 2023!

Hidden Gem! Only recently learned of this historic house & happy to have discovered it. Only open on weekends & three docent-led tours per day. Really enjoyed learning about SF history, SF fire & lifestyle in the era of this home & those of other early SF residents of upper/middle class

Used to be a mansion of one of the movers and shakers before the 1906 earthquake, and then it was gutted in the big fire. The shell remained and it was rebuilt and is now an exclusive club. The stone building is iconic, looks grand, and is also in an iconic location at the top of Nob Hill next to the Cable Cars.

This particular view is iconic and definitely worth your camera shot. But there are also lovely Queen Annes scattered in different residential districts. Take long walks and seek them out. San Francisco treasures.

The concierge, Jeff, Aquino was wonderful!
Hook me up a good concise information of the area, and was very courteous and very approachable. This man deserves a raise, and I happy to see him again.

Covid-19 affected stay. This has been one of those SF locations you want to hit. The top of the Mark - closed. Cold bag breakfasts, this wasn't the expected result. It was a glorious Autumn weekend, warm and light breezes so walking around was great. The staff were efficient, we did not add on the maid service for two nights. The room was as expected from an Intercontinental property. SF here is pricey. Hoped for more.

Salesforce Tower is the tallest skyscraper in Downtown San Fransisco. It’s a nice design and overall fits into the skyline.

The alleys are an essential part of a Chinatown experience. You have Stockton with the buzzing, authentic local shops. You have Grant with the tourist shops.

But you need to check out the alleys (e.g. Ross with the fortune cookie factory, Waverley with its colourful balconies and the temple, Jack Kerouac with its zodiac murals)

Sadly one comes here for memorial services, which is what I did but the space is truly beautiful and a bit of a landmark. So maybe you can just sneak in and admire the design. Worth it.

Octagonal homes were a mid 19th century architectural fad, but few survive intact today. This one, which is a now a museum over near Cow Hollow, remains, and is open to the public on selected days.

I was delighted to be in San Francisco on one of the museum's opening days. The house has a long history (it's one of only three such structures remaining in San Francisco) before it was acquired and restored by the Colonial Dames.

The dames serve as volunteer docents and tell the story of the house and how it came to be in its present location. Inside, there are splendid displays of Colonial era furnishings and artifacts.

The original circular stairwell is no more, but a beautiful carved curved staircase still exists, as does a n unusual ceiling design (be sure to look up!)

Admission is free, with a suggested donation of $5. Worth a visit if you love history, architecture, or both!

It's closed to tours, but the outside is very cool, you can walk around it. There are some nice spots around to sit and enjoy, including sitting down with a coffee.

Timothy Pflueger is the architect, of some fame. This is his masterpiece. It is home to doctors and dentists' offices. Best seen from a distance.
