Overall the facility is very good. The range is available with unlimited balls if you get there early enough before your round. There are no refreshment carts or facilities on course so bring enough water and whatever else you need. The Beach nine only has one hole actually on the water, but it's totally worth the wait for the views - just incredible with crashing waves, whales if you go at the right time of year, and an experience that mitigates any bad shots you have played up until then. The Lakes nine has its own challenges based on its name (which it stands up to). The course condition is excellent. The only drawback is they close at 6, and the staff gets very grouchy if you return the cart five minutes late (even though there is plenty of daylight left).

I paid $120, and my wife rode with me; the cart was clean and fresh; the greens rolled great, better than the resort courses; neatly trimmed fairways; the restaurant serves good sandwiches. Super empty late morning always a plus.

Now that this is the King’s Nine, it’s more fun because there are three nine-hole golf courses that can be played by themselves or in multiple combinations. This time I played the “Kings-Lakes” 18. The greens are nice and fast (due to constant winds drying them out; the key is hitting the ball straight ( when is that not the key!?), especially with how narrow the fairways are, with extreme penalties (lava, lava, lava) if you don’t keep it primarily in the short grass. The carts need gps to improve distance identification. The Bay Club sells discounted vouchers, if you stay there. The staff are awesome, especially the cart guys and the starter; and you’re in Hawaii, so what could be better?
