- Tom I1 contributionMy wife and I rented scooters for 3 hours over the weekend. It was our first time riding street legal gas scooters so we were a bit nervous. We had a very convenient and great time, and felt safe along the way. Highly recommended for new or experienced scooter drivers, great way to get around Lake Geneva area!
The 20-ish minute operating and driving instruction prior to being released into the wild was a huge confidence boost for both my wife and I. We became comfortable with starting the scooter, getting the scooter off of, and onto, the kickstand for parking. We went through a driving course in the parking lot which gave us confidence in making turns, stopping on a spot, starting from feet on pavement to feet in scooter, as well as getting a feel for how the scooter drives. Huge confidence boost in our ability but also a safety reinforcement.
We scooted up to downtown Lake Geneva where the annual Oktoberfest celebration was happening. Parking for cars was a nightmare (told by others in our group and seeing no open spots), but not for us! Able to scoot right up to the festivity barriers and park on the sidewalk, off to side not obstructing pedestrians. Easy peasy! Even though my original booking had to be canceled due to weather, John kindly sought to accommodate me and found a spot for me on the next morning's flight. He was very responsive to phone calls. The flight was beautiful and went off without a hitch. John provided all the information necessary for an enjoyable experience. - Culture555210105702 contributionsStaff/s were very helpful, accommodating and are well informed. Safety is their priority. We were given extra moment, due to the low volume of clients the time we rented a jet ski. Everyone in my family had a great experience with jet ski for the first time. Wyatt and Rette, were 2 good people accommodating us our boat and jetski experience. We had such an amazing day kayaking on the lake thanks to Clear Water Outdoor!
Staff: The staff was SO friendly. Every step of the way (from check in to launch to our return) they were super helpful and nice. We had someone in our party who had never been kayaking before and the staff explained everything super well. The beginner in our party felt like a pro before they even got on the kayak!
Launching: This was the easiest launch I've ever done (in the past I've launched from the ocean, a dock, and a boat ramp)! From the dock, there were steps that led into a shallow part of the lake. The staff were very helpful and didn't leave our side until we were situated (bags were stored in the kayak, we were comfortable in our seats, etc.).
Parking: There's a lot of (paid) street parking near the lake and it's a short walk. We paid on the Park Mobile app. We also came during the early afternoon so there was a lot of parking for us to choose from, but this probably isn't the same throughout the day.
Other: The beach they recommend we kayak to is a little lame, but the that's fine because it's about the journey for us, not the destination 😉. The beach is just a strip of sand where you can get out and strecth your legs if you need it. Personally, we just used this as a marker to turn around and head back. Another thing to keep in mind when kayaking is that there are some reckless boaters. Although we stayed within the path marked by the buoy's, some boaters got too close to the buoy's and made waves that were hard to paddle through. While kayaking you also pass by private boat docks where some people aren't paying attention when they move their boats. We picked up the 1970 Mercury Cougar convertible and cruised around the lake for the evening. The car was amazing. My wife and I had one of our best dates ever. Highly recommend renting one of these classic cars to anyone looking for something unique. Sherm (owner) was incredibly welcoming and treated us really well. The Wedding was in one of the Older Buildings downtown.
