Hiking to the top of Beacon rock is the main feature of this park, the hike is 1.8 miles round trip and it's a fun trail with some great views.
Beacon Rock State Park has picnicking, camping and a great set of trails to enjoy on the north side of Highway 14.

If this is a concern you can park back out near the fish hatchery and walk about ½ a mile to the trailhead.
