Our first day was Monday 5/16, and obviously we weren't prepared and didn't know what we were doing. It was disappointing and boring, but the one thing we learned was to download the Colonial Williamsburg Explore app. We did so, and returned on Thursday 5/19. Through the use of the app to help guide or experience by helping us find interpreters, performances, talks, open shops, and engage in specific activities, we had a fantastic time. On Monday I would have rated Colonial Williamsburg two stars, but now I know that I just didn't know how to make full use of Colonial Williamsburg. We are now addicted to Colonial Williamsburg. I give it a unquestioned five stars.
The Haunted Williamsburg tour was very interesting. I was extremely dubious, but a member of our group wanted to do it and it turned into a wonderful experience with a fantastic guide.
I was disappointed that Colonial Williamsburg had maintenance issues at the capital that derailed our ability to see To Hang A Pirate, but every performance and talk we have seen has been exceptional.
All of the interpreters are fantastic and extremely knowledgeable.
