Our first day was Monday 5/16, and obviously we weren't prepared and didn't know what we were doing. It was disappointing and boring, but the one thing we learned was to download the Colonial Williamsburg Explore app. We did so, and returned on Thursday 5/19. Through the use of the app to help guide or experience by helping us find interpreters, performances, talks, open shops, and engage in specific activities, we had a fantastic time. On Monday I would have rated Colonial Williamsburg two stars, but now I know that I just didn't know how to make full use of Colonial Williamsburg. We are now addicted to Colonial Williamsburg. I give it a unquestioned five stars.

The Haunted Williamsburg tour was very interesting. I was extremely dubious, but a member of our group wanted to do it and it turned into a wonderful experience with a fantastic guide.

I was disappointed that Colonial Williamsburg had maintenance issues at the capital that derailed our ability to see To Hang A Pirate, but every performance and talk we have seen has been exceptional.

All of the interpreters are fantastic and extremely knowledgeable.

Historic Jamestown is a must see for history buffs. We joined the guided archeologist tour and enjoyed the detail provided by Caitlin, who is very knowledgeable and answered every question. The paths are clearly marked and walkable. Plenty of shaded benches and a great view of the James River. The on-site restaurant has lots of outdoor shaded seating and the bbq smelled great. We are NPS pass holders and the entry was $10 each, a bargain.

The Jamestown Settlement was wonderful to explore! The museum was enlightening and I learned so many things I never knew! It is quite a drive from where I live, but I hope to go back in the future! So much to see and learn and wonderful people!

The Jamestown and Jamestown-Scotland ferry travels across the James River between Jamestown and Surry County. We use it to visit two of our favorite places--Bacon's Castle and the Virginia Diner. The ride on the ferry is tons of fun. During the summer there can be a bit of a wait to get on, but it's worth it. The crossing is seamless and beautiful. You can see all sorts of birds, some of which I've never seen. I even caught a picture of an osprey catching a fish. This is old-fashioned fun, relaxing, enjoyable, and FREE! Highly recommended...

The gardens are beautiful but the cooks building should not be missed. The two wonderful ladies are full of tales and so knowledgeable on the preparation of foods of the past. Also had the opportunity to watch the beer making process during our visit. Again the two ladies participated in this process so with a laugh or two you saw history being recreated.

A great collection of rollercoasters. If visiting with small children, check the height restrictions. Our son (8 years old) can go on about half - which was fine given I love them more than he does. There are other rides / activities for really small kids too - but I'm not sure I'd pay the ticket price for a (fancy) playground. Movement from parking lot to the entrance was very easy and very quick (didn’t pay for fancy parking) using the provided tram service. All staff we interacted with were professional and helpful. All facilities, vendors, and rides seemed clean and well maintained. If you plan to eat inside the park – even just a drink/snack – be ready to splash some cash. Nothing about this park is inexpensive.

You can get great coupons to save on admission, and it is a very fun place for the family. It can get really crowded, so be mindful of that!

Ou host at the Fife and Drum suggested this stop located on the way to Jamestown Settlement. You get to see craftsmen blowing glass using colonial time methods and equipment. Plus the gift store has some nice pieces from inexpensive to collector issues. It’s easy to miss but don’t pass by this gem. Well worth a stop.

I would highly recommend going to the visitor center to coordinate your visit to Colonial Williamsburg. The grounds are very pretty and the scenes are amazing and informational.

This is a fantastic museum. You will need at least a couple of hours or plan to come several times to see the vast displays of art from around the country. Clean, comfortable and safe. It was a wonderful visit.

Always enjoy the Easter service here. Beautiful setting and wonderful clergy. You can visit the church during non service hours as well.

We sat in the outside pavilion. The choices of wine sampling were quite good. The waiter was very attentive. The large wood bees were buzzing us. $67 for two red wine samplers and two glasses of pinot grigio, Seemed high.

We happen to be passing just as 2022 Commencement Exercises were concluding. A sea of Caps and Gowns. Smiling faces all satisfied with their achievements. Glowing parents, siblings, mates, loved ones and companions. There is a beautiful, well manicured campus with historic buildings and winding paths to enjoy a nice stroll. Architecture, landscaping and history abound at this historic university.
