We visited here in the early afternoon at peak season and we had the place entirely to ourselves. The location offers amazing views over Naxos Chora and the Agean. As for the temple itself, there is no historical information or anything like that, but I think that’s a positive… it really feels quite secluded and hidden despite it being the most popular attraction on the island.

Just loved Naxos. So friendly, laid back, hospitable and welcoming. This island has everything you could want for a relaxing holiday. Make sure you go before the season ends if you want to visit the nearby islands - we missed by a couple of days !!!

The beach itself is beautiful. It’s very long, but doesn’t feel too crowded. Although we didn’t go to any there are plenty of bars/restaurants in the vicinity, as well as toilet and washing facilities.

Unfortunately, most of the beach is taken up by sun loungers, which were extortionately priced (at time of visit, 50€ a day for 2 beds and an umbrella). This is far more expensive than beaches on other islands. As such, we led on beach towels on the ground.

Very nice Venetian style castle, worth the climb (also a lovely set of churches of various denominations and little meandering streets and archways surround it).

Beautiful beach, not a very direct access from the road, a bit private and not too crowded, waves can get a bit high but water is nice. Sunset is a very nice experience. Not serviced but there is a restaurant Faros 5 min driving from the beach

We paid a quick visit to this museum one afternoon. The museum is nothing big or fancy, but it does have a lot of pretty cool things in it. What made it more interesting to me was the fact that there were some artifacts there that were recovered from Zeus's Childhood Cave, which we had hiked to the day before. We also walked around the building (not sure if it's considered part of the museum) and saw some of the rooms and furniture from when the castle was in use. The whole area, including the museum is worth a visit.

So sorry hotels do not advertise about current events high in that Kastro more precisely... Just passing by a leaflet, we were there for the last season event, i.e. a BOUZOUKI evening (October 25, 2019), which was MORE THAN AN EVENING : friendly welcome with drinks and smiles preceding a wonderful concert with two exceptional musicians (bouzouki and guitar), introducing rebetiko,,smyrneiko, laïko. Great dancing demonstrations, including sirtaki and a subtle, reserved (indeed, indeed) belly dance. The whole public felt as family. A MUST-DO in 2020 !

My wife and I arrived by ferry from Santorini to Naxos and we departed two days later by ferry to Mykonos. As you come into the port, you can see the Temple of Apollo, which is very impressive. When you arrive in port, you have a nice view of Old Town Naxos.

This was an amazing experience because of the exhibit that was featured at the time we visited. The weaving exhibit was artfully arranged in each room with such care…. Beautiful

We enjoyed our time on this beach because it has fine, almost white sand, lots of parking, and almost no people. You can rent umbrellas and chairs, or walk a few hundred meters and be completely alone.

The Cathedral is located across from Grotta Beach in Naxos. It is a distinctive whitewashed building. We did not go inside, although the photos on TripAdvisor are stunning.
