Place has very good vibes and it is situated on the bank of river Ganga . If you have health issues then avoid as one has to climb up and down the hill . We visited the cave on our way to Taj Rishikesh.

Just been to Rishikesh and got the chance to visit this historic bridge connecting both shores of Ganges for travellers and city people like us.

Well I was surprised to see that this time there were no lights lit during my evening visit which can be quite dangerous for people walking on the bridge.

But the charm is one that you should not miss while walking over this.

Beautiful views on both sides with fresh breath of air makes it more pure.

    Truly amazing experience.

We visited this place in the afternoon around 1:00 pm.The place was crowded and it was hot .it was a short Trek of about twenty minutes but doable.veey elderly might not be able to do it.Chaehes are 50 rupees. There are three levels with small stalls for maggi and tea at each level.we managed to find fifteen minutes when there was no crowd around the place and got drenched under the clean but icy cold water. There were no changing rooms but we still loved the experience.Lots of fun !

The place is so much bigger then I imagined.
The ticket for foreigners April 2023 is for 600,- IRP
They play a very relaxing music in most of the alleys, which blends beautifully with the sound of nature.
The graffiti work gives the place a very nice feel..
There’s a spot by the end where you see & hear the Ganga clearly.. you can just stand there for hours.
I also enjoyed a tasty lemon, ginger & honey drink on the picnic tables in front of the small cafeteria.

The Jhula was shut and has been shut for past two years.
It is quite serendipitous that I arrived in Rishikesh on Sivarathri. The whole place was agog with excitement, spilling people out of all kinds of abodes, vying for space with sturdy scary bulls, graceful cows, opportunistic dogs and monkeys on brightly lit streets by coloured lights and voices competing with blaring amplifiers spewing all kinds of noises. I saw Siva and Parvathi dancing to Popular Hindi film songs like ‘Kajra muhabbath waala’ and dialoguing like the people on the streets -right in the temple precincts choked with piety.

By the jhula, under its majestic presence, people swung layered brass fire-lamps in obeisance to deities of their own faith chanting holy slogans praying for a better life than the existence that they barely endured. Scents, smells and fragrances filled the air with a kaleidoscope of memories locked up in my cerebral crevices. I had been here fifty years ago with my deceased parents, clinging on to them for fear of getting lost.

There were people with anxieties, sadness, peace, happiness, contentment and emptiness in their hearts all amalgamated into one single pulsating throbbing existential entity called humanity..

And majestically Ganga flowed totally detached in the midst of all the Gunga Din,like a mystic Queen donning an aquamarine blue hue- clean and pure, cleansing and purifying the entire environment with a quietude that reflected centuries of meditative equanimity and forgiveness.

It was breathtaking and yet demanding my full attention to every moment to take in everything and nothings in between..

We were suggested this place bya friend who visited in 2020. This place is also known as Baba Kalikamliwala Ashram. It is on the east river bank of Ganga river.
believe me, we were flabbergasted with the place. We booked a fully furnished air conditioned one bedroom kitchen apartment after a lots of efforts. It has to be booked ONLINE ONLY and the decision makers are based out of Calcutta.
But, it was worth all the efforts.
You have to go to the canteen for your breakfast, lunch and dinner. Food is very economical.
The whole place is full of life.
Our flat no.316 was very close to River Ganga. hardly 100 mts.We attended Ganga aarti for all the seven days we stayed there.
IF YOU JUST WANT TO REST IN CLEANEST ENVIORNMENT, DO YOG EVERYDAY, AND HAVE A TIME OF YOUR LIFE, YOU MUST VIVIT THIS PLACE.
By the way, for young people who want to roam around to visit other attractions like Laxman Zula etc. 2 wheelers are available on rent. Rs 500 per day !!!!

This place was, is and always remain as the main attraction of Rishikesh. A must visit site for every tourists or pilgrimage. Getting a room here is however very difficult, rooms are mostly free. We were anyway not interested to stay in free rooms. The khadi store outside Gita Bhavan was not that attractive.
