The place is divine, serene, but is crowded in the main central area. The best place to walk is at the left most area where the place is pretty empty and divine!

Quite a long drive from our hotel which was on the riverside, not much signage so the driver had to ask his way several times. It is shown as Rajaji National Park ( no mention of the Beatles ashram)!
Had to pay an entrance fee and climb up a bit to reach the actual ashram. Not at all well maintained , had a neglected feeling about it, and very few visitors probably because of the entrance fees- which could be a good things as it was left unspoilt and not much done to maintain the buildings.

Otherwise interesting with some nice graffiti and photographs.

No gift shop, restaurant or toilet that we could find.

Lakshmana Jhula is the one of the most visited place in Rishikesh which is situated in Tapovan region. Located @ 4.5 km from Rishikesh town. Tera Manzil temple is located other side of this Jhula. From this bridge one can have spectacular view of Ganga river and surrounding areas. This hanging bridge made with Iron. length of the bridge is 450 feet long and is situated at the height of 70 feet from the Ganga River.

This bridge is very narrow one used for pedestrians which connects the two villages. on West bank Tapovan in Tehri Garhwal district to Jonk in Pauri Garhwal district on the East bank of Ganga River.

    History:
It is believed that Lakshmana crossed river Ganga at the same spot where the present bridge is constructed. Lord Lakshmana crossed the river using just two ropes. Lakshmana crossed the river at this location by using Jute ropes hence this is called as Lakshmana Jhula. which was 284 ft long and was there in use till 1889. To honor this Lord Lakshmana's act, Iron Rope hanging bridge is constructed here in 1929 and name is continued same as Lakshmana Jhula. The original bridge was washed away in 1924 floods. The newly constructed present bridge is opened on 11th April1930 to the public.

    Nearby attractions:
    1. Tera Manzil temple
    2. Neelkanta Mahadev temple
    3. Shri Sacha Akhileshwar temple
    4. Ram Jhula

Book a taxi in advance from Rishikesh market taxi stand. Leave 1.5 - 2 hours before sunrise, i.e. around 3:00 a.m.
The sunrise from this point is an amazing experience

We spent good 2 hours here. What a place! The Gufa is strictly for people who want to meditate, not for photography. For people who meditate, it's heaven and you'll realise it in Arundhati cave as well as Vashishta Gufa.

Ram Jhula is similar to Lakshmana Jhula which is also an iron suspension bridge across the river Ganga. Located 2 km away from Lakshmana Jhula. This bridge connects the Shivananda Nagar area of Muni Ki Reti in Tehri Garhwal district to Swarga ashram in Pauri Garhwal district crossing the river from West to east.

Shivananda ashram, Yoga Niketan ashram and Omkarnanda ashram is located at one end of Ram Jhula and the other end has Swarg Ashram, Gita Bhavan and Parmarth Niketan Ashram. So if you visit Ram Jhula and Lakshmana Jhula you will almost cover major tourist places of Rishikesh.

This Bridge is also constructed in 1989 for Pedestrians like Lakshmana Jhula. There is no historical story and it is not related to Ramayana. It is constructed just near to Lakshmana Jhula so this bridge name is mentioned as Ram Jhula

If you are in Rishikesh and fan of Beatles ,then it is must to visit this ashram located at a 5 mins walk from parmarth niketan (back side).
The ashram is not functioning now but is opened for tourist .
Beatles stayed here for few years and made the album know as White album.

We were suggested this place bya friend who visited in 2020. This place is also known as Baba Kalikamliwala Ashram. It is on the east river bank of Ganga river.
believe me, we were flabbergasted with the place. We booked a fully furnished air conditioned one bedroom kitchen apartment after a lots of efforts. It has to be booked ONLINE ONLY and the decision makers are based out of Calcutta.
But, it was worth all the efforts.
You have to go to the canteen for your breakfast, lunch and dinner. Food is very economical.
The whole place is full of life.
Our flat no.316 was very close to River Ganga. hardly 100 mts.We attended Ganga aarti for all the seven days we stayed there.
IF YOU JUST WANT TO REST IN CLEANEST ENVIORNMENT, DO YOG EVERYDAY, AND HAVE A TIME OF YOUR LIFE, YOU MUST VIVIT THIS PLACE.
By the way, for young people who want to roam around to visit other attractions like Laxman Zula etc. 2 wheelers are available on rent. Rs 500 per day !!!!

This is the landmark of Rishikesh after Laxman Jhulla & Ram Jhulla. It is near Laxman Jhulla. If you climb all the floors, then you can witness the beauty all around. But you will get filled after witnessing so many small temples in all floors. No lift and there are as much shops in each floor as that of temples.
