- heesacw8 contributionsWe had a great time doing this on a bike, it has ten bridges and is a lovely bike ride. The views along the water are wonderful.Written 16 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- J&BDC26 contributionsThe drive isn't nearly as scenic as the view from the top! Don't skip the hike - well worth it. If you don't have 4WD this drive may be challenging but still doable.Written 27 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Minnesota42Osseo, MN228 contributionsWe wanted to see the family history and photos which turned out to be located on the lower floor of the beautiful main lodge. If you choose to walk the ground a pass is required. You can rent sports equipment if you choose as well. It was interesting to see the family history after they left Austria and the photos of their touring and the family helping to construct the lodge.Written 27 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - KimKAshburnham, MA25 contributionsBeautiful hike ! Suggest micro spikes though .. Icy under some fresh snow! View was limited at top due to weather conditions.. but loved this moderate hike !Written 1 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jeanine SSaint Louis, MO8 contributionsOur family of four enjoyed a lovely sleigh ride with Clover and our driver Courtney. It was so beautiful through the woods along the river and hearing the jingle bells along the way! They had blankets ready for us and took some photos for us. Everything was terrific. The only reason not rating 5 stars is that it was quite pricey. 25 min ride for $160. Loved everything else!Written 5 December 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- J3944Branford, CT163 contributionsAs beautiful in the summer as it is in the winter. We’ve stayed at spruce peak a few times to ski. We were in town for a lacrosse tournament and chose the hotel in the summer. Place is so clean, people are friendly, great food, amenities and service.Written 16 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jenn R3 contributionsWe only had an hour, but we enjoyed snowshoeing through part of Kirchner Woods. Easy access (although limited parking) and lots of trail options. Peaceful woods. Lots of people with dogs.Written 4 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- mlm125Annapolis, MD58 contributionsIt’s a lovely, steep hike that is 85 percent on big rocks that were slippery, which made it stressful for me. Bring good shoes!
First, go early. I went at about 8;30 am on a weekday, and only ran into one other set of people. But you hike in and out the same way. On the way down, it was pretty crowded with folks hiking up, which isn’t so great.
Second, I disagree with an earlier poster. The pond is lovely. The problem is that the shore is small and can get crowded with fishermen.
Third, it’s so rocky. They aren’t small rocks either — it’s scaling rocks and for parts through a stream bed. It had been raining when I went, and I fell a few times on the wet rocks. That made it not so fun.
The worst part is that it was totally unnecessary. If the trail were six feet on either side, it would be steep but fun and on solid ground. There are all these signs being obsessed with erosion — with blue paint marking exactly where on the rockslide they want you to go. You know what’s worse then erosion? Getting sued to death for broken parts because the state took enough of a role in managing the trail to waive immunity (although I don’t know VT law).Written 6 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There are several benches along the walk, in case you need to rest. If you make it to the bottom and have the balance to walk and hop along the rocks, go approx. in the middle of the river to get a great view of the bridge, which is quite beautiful from that angle. Note: I would rate the trail as easy, but if you are unaccustomed to hiking, you may need to rest on the way back up.Written 20 October 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - tinaNtravelSan Jose, CA2,011 contributionsThe first part of the hike is relatively easy. The path is wide and easy to walk on even though it’s of course on an upward grade. The second part of the hike is more of a climb than a hike. You’ll need to climb rocks for a good half a mile up hill. It’s not difficult but if you have knee or balance issues this may not be the hike for you. The view at the top is amazing, especially in the fall when you see all the multi-color leaves all down the mountain and into the valley.Written 20 October 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
