- jayo0556Sugar Land, TX339 contributionsThe gardens are lovely. The variety of plants is quite impressive. There are paved trails which makes it easy for those with mobility issues to enjoy the gardens.
Thr only issue we had was finding the entrance. There are quite a few people buried there that had an impact on the founding of the Republic of Texas and forming the state. The oldest city in Texas, with historic buildings, a walkable downtown area with brick streets & many shops & cafes to explore. We always stay at the Fredonia Hotel & about a block away is the Fredonia Brewery, one of our favorite spots in town. Most of the vendors accepted credit cards but the Market also sold 'cards' for $5 each which you can purchase with a credit card and you can pay using those as well. One of the only buildings commissioned by the Republic of Texas for higher education still on its original location. Now a museum.
