On this 10 day visit to Houston, we wanted to do some shopping. Firstly, there is none, absolutely none, downtown. It's comprised of offices, hotels and parking lots. The Galleria is a 20-25 minute car journey away. Apart from the ice rink on the lower floor, it's little different from any other shopping mall with 3 department stores and the usual range of high end brand name down to "off the rack" goods. Things are said to be big in Texas but there's nothing big about this mall. We have been in many larger in other countries.

This mall caters to any type of visit- an hour, a few hours, a whole day, there's a lot to do here. Huge variety of stores, very vast and diverse food court, and plenty of options for the kids to go play. There are some restaurants adjacent to the mall as well. The prices are fairly high if you go that route, but what else do you expect from a mall, right? Plenty of parking in various lots and garages. If you come at the right time, you may even catch hockey games in the ice skating rink.

I don't care for shopping but there are quite a selection of restaurants in the area. The place is located near the football stadium past the western end of the Rice University campus. So if you are touring the campus, it is a long walk from say Lovette Hall to the Rice Village Shops.

It was interesting to explore this mall and culture. There are shops on the outside of the mall and also inside. Some of the shops listed their hours of operation as not being open on Tuesday. There were many options for food and all seemed busy so I assume that it is authentic cuisine. Air conditioning did seem to be an issue in part of the mall, though, so we didn't stay as long as we wanted in the right side of the mall area inside.

It's a grocery store, but the quality is better than the huge chains and it's fun to shop here. Worth going out of your way to shop.

Nothing special about this place unless you’re like my uncle who likes to walk around and negotiate different prices with people just for the fun of it and end up walking away with 50 smoke detectors he’ll never use. But he got them for 2 dollars each.I didn’t find anything special here

This is a tour of the underground tunnel system built so employees didn’t have to endure the heat and humidity when going from office. It has now grown a lot and has restaurants and relaxation areas for all to enjoy. Historical information was given along with points of interest. A 2 hour tour full of sites and info. Tour guide was awesome.

Some good stores with lots of over bearing folks at the kiosks. Many food choices in the mall and in the parking lot.

This smaller shopping center has very good boutiques and smaller establishments. I specially Love. VIKARI French boutique! It’s worth a trip! Their women’s clothing and home items are always a great one of a kind find!

Art studios. Monthly open house is a different activity for a Saturday afternoon. Easy convenient parking. Nice artwork. Interesting conversation with the artists

It's a small museum definitely worth seeing. The contemporary craft exhibited is exceptional, plus you have the chance to speak with several artists with workshops in the museum.

I was expecting a shopping center full of vintage shops. There was none of that. It is your typical shopping center.

I believe this is now called the Moody Center For The Arts, so it doesn't stand out on Tripadvisor, (and to be honest within Houston it doesn't stand out, it is a bit of a trek to come here!). However I had a very friendly welcome and a good time. The Laurie Anderson and Hsin-Chien Huang VR artwork made a great impression on me. It was very different but really powerful. It was an amazing piece of art.

We really enjoyed walking though this mall. There are many good dealers here--far more than "typical" malls. There are lots of different items for sale, and many of them at good prices.
The mall is going to close at year end and plans to re-open "somewhere" in Houston. We certainly hope that it does.

Really enjoyed the current exhibit. Lots of interesting artists showing in various mediums. It's free to get in and worth a visit.
