- Jason U2 contributionsAmazing adventure. We took my son's lifted Rubicon (Jeep much more capable than our experience level). The blue trails were awesome, but somehow we missed a turn and found ourselves on a double back diamond (trail 21). After getting past a number of obstacles, we called the office, and they were very helpful in guiding us back out and then when we experienced a breakdown later (broke the linkage), the staff helped us find a recovery expert that arrived within 40 minutes and had us down the mountain moments after that. A few drunks at the overlook the evening of July 4th kinda ruined the experience that night, which is why I'm only giving 4 stars. But the previous 3 days of riding before that was an experience I'll never forget, loads of fun!
The campground/camping experience is a whole nother story! I'd give windrock park campground ONE star!!! Reasons;;;- 11pm and after is suppose to be quite time, meaning some people expect to be able to go to sleep. But, People don't shut up, quit partying, joy riding through the campground, revving up their loud exhaust, etc. until after 2am! Not cool! And the bath house! Ice Cold showers every night!
