- E1881RClaurencworthing153 contributionsStunning walk! Hard on the legs as it’s lots of steps and uneven stones pretty much all the way up. You need a decent level of fitness. We found the descent harder as our legs were tired. Took about 6.5 hours with plenty of photos and snack breaks. Go prepared for weather as can get cold on the top. There is a mini summit before the actual summit that’s actually much further away so don’t be fooled by that!Written 2 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Stunning views and happened to have pretty good weather.

You can park for free in the carpark, which has clean toilets and a couple of lovely picnic benches.
Walk is 3.5 miles and with stops to take photos it took us 2 hours, and we enjoyed every minute.
The scenery was stunning. There are some rocky paths to negotiate and the path is high, but well worth it. Apart from the beginning of the walk, the rest is pretty much even.
We did the walk up hill to the right first as that us the best way to see the scenery.
As you come back down the lake is beautiful and a nice place to rest.

But we were really glad we went this way. It was a real delight to drive over this bridge and not something you do everyday. Well worth the £1 it cost. Yes, you have to drive slowly and it's not a smooth ride but it's a real experience. Great views. I would say doing this is a must do if in the area.Written 13 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sharon DLeicester, England, United Kingdom42 contributionsDon't do this walk unless you have good route map or GPS guidance as we missed a few paths and finished up walking a lot further than we needed to and took us on some quite arduous sections. Well worth the effort to do the walk, although we only did one section and after 6+ miles we were treated to some amazing views, absolutely stunning to be honest, but we were glad to be making our way back down. We did the route up to the Lake, along the Levels and back down. Starting it in the village of Llanelltyd.Written 22 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- GarethfromtynygroesTyn-y-Groes, UK141 contributionsOne of Wales' hidden gems and it is well hidden from the road. Just look for a black gate and follow the path up to the church. From the outside the church doesn't look like anything special but once you step inside, it's just wow
One of the best examples of the arts and crafts movement in a church. Well worth visiting.Written 15 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The setting though is lovely, nestled in the woods.. There is plenty of information with easy parking. Not much remains of the Abbey apart from some arches and walls but its enough to show you the scale of what it must have been like in its heyday.Written 29 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SusiehoRuncorn, UK152 contributionsThe market was in the ship, the library and the street due to the BBC filming a new drama. We bought some lovely fresh bread and coffee and were a bit disappointed we'd shopped for meat and eggs the day before as the stuff for sale looked beautiful. Dog friendly which is a massive plus point.Written 19 June 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- isaacGreat Malvern, UK27 contributionsBrilliant solo walk up Aran Fawddwy. Went clockwise from the little cabin I was staying in past Blaencywarch Farm. The start is very steep and demanding, and it gets boggy after you turn right. I walked to Aran Benllyn afterwards which wasn’t too demanding and added a fair bit of distance and time.Written 25 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - PutneySWLondon, UK1,730 contributionsI was walking in the forest this morning and passed by this tea room in a remote but fantastic location. It was a Monday so I doubted that it would have been open and as it wasn’t then I can only rate it on its location.
A little further on, I stopped to chat with a very charming local inhabitant who told me that the tea garden was open at weekends and had been the previous weekend but I’m not certain if this applies during winter months.Written 2 October 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The trails are clearly marked and lead to great views over the Mawddach estuary. The old lime kiln is interesting.
