The souvenir shop with Rhoda has got superb gifts to take home as memories of your trip. The museum has some fantastic artifax to jog the memory of years gone by in the Ness area. We finished our visit with a late lunch in the tearoom with Angela,Maggie, and staff. The food was amazing ,very well served by pleasant staff. The home baking was to die for,all locally produced.. this is well with your while to spend some quality time in the Ness area of the island. Very disappointed to find this arts centre has stopped serving local beers, not even the bottled Isle of Skye beers they used to serve. - Julie PUnited Kingdom2,018 contributionsYou can't actually see the chapel from the road, so park up in the bays near the cemetery and follow the sign, for a short walk towards the beach. It stands in its own grounds. Part of it has now been roofed to protect the most important and less worn grave stones. There are information boards with a key so you know what's what. Some well carved stones. Doesn't take long to visitWritten 18 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - janetSurrey, Canada19 contributionsIt was a good way to experience the wild weather of Scotland. While we were there we had gale force winds and a good bit of rain. While not ideal that day for a picnic it was great for witnessing seagulls nesting in clumps of flowers to hide from the wind while huge waves crash around them! It is worth the trip, the drive is not just about this destination but others along the way! Don't be put off by the extra 20 minutes out of your way - lots of scenery to enjoy getting here.Written 5 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DonkScotlandScotland178 contributionsLoved this place. Ideal for the extended family - grandparents, parents and two small children. Spent lots of time and had lots of fun in the very well set up play park and then enjoyed one of the shorter walks. Boardwalk meant the 3 year old could run back and forth with less risk of tripping or turning her foot on rough ground, the baby could enjoy it all from her buggy and everyone was very happy. So happy we went twice!
Lots of hairy oobits about (woolly caterpillars), plenty small birds bobbing around in the trees and bushes, and an obliging eagle or two!Written 29 June 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The sculptures of the herring girls particularly beautiful and poignant with bandages on her fingers. The wooden car I f of the peat girl was also stunningly beautiful.as were the seals in a different way.
