I had only been here many years ago and only to the theme park. So I was delighted with this recent visit. The walks are lovely and so many wild fowl to see who are really quite tame. There was also the Roman Bath house remains and water facilities. We had a go on the pedalo and it is all very reasonable. The entertainment area was good although there did seem to be a fair amount of machines etc in need of some tlc. I thought this surprising considering the high season starts very soon. Unfortunately we did not come when the rides were open but another day. There is also the Amazonia small zoo, High Diving Pirates and High experience area. All of which we will revisit to see.

The cafe in the entertainment area was ok. Decent value for money although the small soft drinks were dear. Did not seem geared up to deal with busy times and forgot to bring our drinks when we were served or really for dietary restrictions as they seemed surprised to be asked about vegetarian food. Hopefully it’s simply a matter of experience for the young staff.

Overall I would really recommend visits for all ages to this nice park. Please do pay attention to the signs about swimming. The park do not suggest swimming at any time. We saw some people including small children in the water and this was worrying in two ways. Firstly there is a steep drop in the loch so could be dangerous. Also they currently have blue green algae bloom which can make swimmers unwell. I am an open water swimmer so would always avoid such areas if advised. Only as a matter of caution.

Was there today for Christmas experience , however carpark was horrendous as it had snowed and was like an ice rink and was dangerous , they could have at least gritted for the safety of their customers

it’s very small and you go around pretty quickly, definitely could go somewhere for cheaper but staff are friendly and very informed about their animals and are very well cared for. Good for young kids learning.

There are lots of lovely paths and short walks around Dalzell Estate. We come here frequently and always enjoy a lovely walk.

Some information boards around too which is a nice addition.

It’s a great place for a long or short walks, u can see the wildlife and mayb a few ghosts on the way round. It has a car park and some parking spots. It’s ideal for all ages, great in autumn to collect conkers. Recommend to walk round it can lead u to Strathclyde park, Hamilton, muirhouse, plan before u go as u can get mixed up in routes..

Really enjoyed the two days in Motherwell for the Baptist Union of Scotland annual assembly. Special as it was the 150th anniversary. Facilities and general catering were fine. But the Friday night meal was absolutely excellent. Some 300 eating but the whole thing went really smoothly and the food itself was excellent.

Although small in terms of a museum, the 360 degree view from the top is quite something.
The young man on the front desk was very helpful and knowledgeable.

We tend to go to most home games. Our eldestnis 9 and has embraced Motherwell as 'his team' tough for me as I'm an Evertonian. That said a three hour drive to watch the toffees is probably overshadowed by the ease of driving 15 mins, parking pretty much outside and enjoying a decent (sometimes) game of football. Only downside, needs more atmosphere.

This memorial is dedicated to the men of Motherwell who died in the wars fought by the United Kingdom since the First World War. The memorial is in the style of a cenotaph sitting on a base with four faux columns carved into the base. Each of the four columns are topped with carved urns. The cenotaph is carved with relief of a great broadsword through a wreath, while a lion couchant sits atop the cenotaph watching over the nearly 900 names engraved on the monument. Interestingly, the pedestal is also carved with scenes of war to represent the different branches of the British Armed Forces. There is a frame silhouette of a WW1 soldier standing poignantly next to the cenotaph.

The monument is a great thing to see if you find yourself in Duchess of Hamilton Park.
