Need 2 hours for the visit and the tour. 100% worth the ticket price. Will, the tour guide was very knowledgable about the battle of Franklin and cared about providing a good service. Very personable. Made us feel special. Also learned a lot, not just about the battle, but life at that time. We recommend this experience.

Andy was our guide at the Carter house. He added more history to the battle of Franklin and New Orleans so between this house and the Carntor house we really got a complete picture of the battle. Seeing bullet holes in the buildings was amazing that there was anyone left alive at all. Andy had a few smart remarks that some might find offensive but we didn't. He did a great job to involve us who were on the tour. He was kind enough to take our picture through one of the bullet holes as well.

The Carnton house was wonderful. They greeted us with warmth and sold us our combination ticket to here and the Carter house. Got the senior discount and also a free coupon to visit the one outside of Franklin. Forget the name but the ticket does not expire so maybe we will be back in the area someday. Walker was our guide and he explained the history of this house and the battle very well. Easy enough for young people to understand. ( My 11 year old granddaughter wasn't here but she loves to listen to history.) We were not rushed in the tour and was able to asked questions allow the way and he said to ask more at the visitor centre if we still had some. It's about 15 minutes outside of Franklin but easy to get there. Highly recommend this tour with Walker.

We enjoyed our historic visit. While there are some very nice guided tours we did fine on several self guided tours and never paid any fees for any tours. The visitors center has maps, restrooms, and brochures. We walked around downtown looking at historic houses and buildings. We then went to Pinkerton park and walked to Fort Granger which had lots of Civil War Historic signs. We then went to Eastern Flank park which has a huge battlefield with lots of signs explaining the history. You don’t need to book a your tour to see the battlefield there. They do have a historic house you can pay a fee to tour.

We walked about the town one day and it was unexpectantly nice. There are lots of nice shops, restraunts and at least one hotel. In addition, the town is known for a famous Civil War battle, which we learned about by taking a self guided tour. I would travel back there next time I am in the area to see more.

Very interesting and informative tour! The tour took about 1 hour. The tour guide shared information about the history of whiskey in Tennessee, the history of the brewery, the brewing process, and a little chemistry about whiskey. There is an optional tasting. A small gift shop is on the premises, along with the resident cat.

This place was really fun to go thru. A lot of little shops and places to eat.
It was a fun place to spend some quiet time. It looks like they are getting more new shops.

We visited Franklin Tennessee and went on a drive on the Natchez trace Parkway and enjoyed the view. We then traveled for about 50 minutes to Bell Buckle Tennessee, which was a little small town that’s well known for antique shops and murals. The picturesque views on the drive was amazing! The kids loved walking around downtown and climbing on the train. We ate at the city café and that alone was worth the trip! So good!!

Whenever I am in the Franklin area I always try to make time for the McGavock Family Cemetery. And yes I have visited the mansion a couple of times I know I can always visit the cemetery for free. As most Civil War buffs may know it’s the largest private Confederate cemetery in the country. Since the Confederates were forced to retreat after the battle many of the Confederate dead were buried in shallow graves. You can imagine the horror when the rain revealed the bodies in a couple of years. The McGavock’s provided a place where these unfortunate souls could rest in peace. Oh, for those who have yet to visit the mansion please take the tour. It is well worth the time.

The entire experience was fantastic. We enjoyed the hayride thru the fields looking at the cows and older buildings. The corn maze and the mini golf was unexpected and very fun. The animals was another fun time seeing all the different types from goats and chickens to even the turkeys. The pumpkin patch was great priced and a good selection. The also offer military discounts

We visited in late October and there were a lot of veggies, mums, dried flowers, gluten free mixes, knitted baby hats, jewelry, fish, etc. There were lots of vendors and the weather was beautiful for walking around.

We spent close to an hour enjoying the variety of art work in Gallery 202, making a purchase and, most of all, talking with Jim McReynolds the Gallery's manager. It is a must stop when walking the streets of downtown Franklin.
