Beautiful paved trail, around park areas, through forests, over bridges and little creeks, from a picturesque church to an old, wonderful covered bridge.
Moss Glen Falls Stowe, VT 24.9 km away
#2 of 18 Nature & Parks in Stowe
The park is a very short drive from Stowe and begins as a walk through on narrow plank boards through small shrub trees near the creek but then opens up to a wide riverbed with large boulders.
The waterfalls are beautiful, you can wade in the clear, clean water, and enjoy the peace of nature.
Smugglers Notch State Park Stowe, VT 33.0 km away
#3 of 18 Nature & Parks in Stowe
The park serves as a trailhead for several hiking trails that stretch into Mount Mansfield State Forest, including the Sterling Pond trail that rises 900 feet to Sterling Pond, which is open fishing and swimming.
Relative to many high-level parks and attractions, this area is really easy to get to from downtown Stowe and well worth the visit.

If you're a hiker, you can take the Sunset Ridge Trail up from the Underhill State Park (through the notch 20 min from Stowe).
There is also a park guide posted to the summit daily (at least during hiking season) who was able to provide some useful information.
Trapp Family Lodge Outdoor Center Stowe, VT 26.5 km away
#6 of 18 Nature & Parks in Stowe
Amazing Trails, lots of fun stuff for kids including activities and nature walks and informational sessions.
It costs nothing to drive onto the von Trapp property, park your car for free, and get out and wander the hills and trails and gardens.
Sugarbush Resort Warren, VT 28.8 km away
#1 of 2 Nature & Parks in Warren
Sugarbush has a ton of terrain between the two mountains, and they do an incredible job with the terrain parks too.
We ski Sugarbush each year and this year we made the trek over to mount Ellen since my son likes to park ski.

Park at the Mansfield lot and simply glide peacefully over the road to Spruce for rentals, lift tickets and food.
It reminded me of Canyons in Park City.
Warren Falls Warren, VT 29.6 km away
#2 of 2 Nature & Parks in Warren
A great place to enjoy the nature, have a dip in a cool mountain water or jump from a cliff into it.
Now there is a nice parking lot but this place is very popular on hot summer days and many times must park along the road.
Sterling Falls Gorge Stowe, VT 27.3 km away

It's refreshing to find someone with such a love of nature and its beauty.

Wiessner Woods Stowe, VT 29.4 km away
#9 of 18 Nature & Parks in Stowe
Having mostly grown up using large city parks in Houston and Austin, I was especially surprised how each portion of forest had its own look, its own feel of being a distinct environment.
Really loved the Gnome Tree!!!On top of that, I lost my sunglasses in the park and did not notice until I left and had been gone for an hour.
West Branch Gallery & Sculpture Park Stowe, VT 26.0 km away

And the Sculpture Park adjoining the gallery offers top notch sculptures on a rolling lawn, surrounded by trees and a lovely river.

Hubbard Park Montpelier, VT 0.9 km away

This park contains several miles of trails through forested hills, which makes for a perfect morning or afternoon stroll!
Hubbard Park is the same kind of oasis for Montpelier that Central Park is for Manhattan, just on a smaller, wilder scale.
Elmore State Park Elmore, VT 31.3 km away
#1 of 1 Nature & Parks in Elmore
Such a wonderful Vermont State Park - Beautifully maintained, great campsites, great beach, clean water, at the foot of the hikeable Elmore Mountain (it is clearly a hike to the firetower, but it is hikeable) ......
We did a day trip to the park in August and loved every second of it .
Bolton Valley Resort Bolton Valley, VT 20.2 km away
#1 of 1 Nature & Parks in Bolton Valley
Mother Nature dumped an April Fool's gift on Bolton Valley, and Liftopia gave me a $17.99 deal for Sunday, April 2nd for 20 runs in 6 hours.
But if Mother Nature cooperates like it did with us this winter, I can't I think of a better family experience.

Owls Head Trail Groton, VT 22.8 km away
#1 of 6 Nature & Parks in Groton
If driving to Boulder Beach State Park and Owls Head Trailhead from south to north on Route 232, take a quick stop at lovely Ricker's Pond, just after you turn onto that road from Route 302.
So easy to park and walk up a short ways to a lookout.
Ricker Pond State Park Groton, VT 25.8 km away
#2 of 6 Nature & Parks in Groton
There are trails all around the park, which is part of a cluster of state parks, including one nearby that does have a sizeable beach, but what I really wanted to write about is Liz Riley and the park staff.
... State Forest from Montpelier via Route 302 East, which will eventually bring you to the southern access point for Route 232, which runs through the forest and the various state park locations contained in it.
