    A place for spiritual rejuvenation

The visit to the temple is not for the faint hearted as one needs to walk barefooted for quite a distance before entering the temple complex

The golden beach along the marine drive is just a perfect place for sunrise and sunset. The beach is also perfect for sea bathing. Horse and camels are available for all-time stroll across the beach.

The only negative point is the cleanliness. The sand stretch to the beach is much dirty, and much unsafe also due to lots of broken glasses (possibly from bear bottles), which can hurt anyone with barefoot.

This place is a must visit on the way to Puri from Bhubaneshwar. It is a small village around 10-15 mins drive from the more popular Pipli village which is famous for applique work. It is the place famous for patta chitra, which is actually sketches done on palm leaves and also, cloth. They use all natural colours and the designs are very intricate and beautiful. Even the walls of the small houses are painted beautifully with images of birds, animals, mythological characters and deities. They have schools that teach these drawings and you can visit and see the students practicing. You can buy the paintings (they come in all sizes) and even bookmarks and small wooden toys.

Visited Eco Retreat Konark and must say a complete value for money as well as amazing customer service. It's better to give a couple days so that you can enjoy all parts at leisure.

We took a 5-seater boat ride from Satpada for 3 hours, which cost us Rs.2300/-. I saw a lot of negative reviews, but we had a good time. We saw dolphins (3-4 sightings) and a lot of birds (they come very close to you, when you throw popcorns, etc in the lake. Actually this is not a very good thing to do as most people throw kurkure, fried bobby rings, etc which might be actually harming the birds in the long run..maybe OTDC should do something about this). After an hour's ride, the boatman dropped us off on an island from where we could walk to the beach on the other side. There was also a shack on the island which served tasty sea food like prawns, fish, crabs etc fresh from the sea, along with tender coconut. We spent an hour here and then the return ride was again around an hour (so total 2 hours). There are many points in Satpada from you can start the ride and the one that we took was from the actual Satpada town.

You can come back again and again to Puri. that's the beauty of the sea here.
Swargadwar beach, one of the crowded and most happening places in Puri, is definitely worth visiting any time of the day.
There are beautiful sand arts been displayed by local artists on the beach

The Vimala Temple is dedicated to goddess Vimala (Bimala), generally regarded as a Shakti Pitha.. It is situated within the Jagannath Temple complex in Puri. Visited Vimala Temple during Jagannath temple darshan, it was a divine experience.

Participated in Ulta Rath on 9th July 2022

There were about a million devotees who came from all over India and few from other countries to participate in the Ulta Rath which took place on 9th July 2022.

I participated along with my 2 friends and we arrived at the hospital square at 2.15 pm after lunch and by that time the chariot of Lord Balaram was nearing this place so we had drawn the chariot sybmolically by touching the rope. Then was Devi Subhadra's chariot which arrived about 30 min later and then Lord Jagannath Ji which arrived 1 hour later. The street was full of devotees singing , dancing, paying respect to Lord, lots of energy.
Police and volunteers sprayed water on us as it was hot sunny day. The entire place was full of merry and energy.
Devotees from all age group and walks of life participated without any discrimination or enmity.

This experinece was definitely to be relived and I plan to participate in this festival in future as well.

    Jai Jagannath

The bliss and importance of this beautiful temple is put off with the pundits chasing you for Pooja's and what not that will empty your pockets and more. Money is needed everywhere. Best thing to do is to ignore them and don't do anything that they say ! View the deity and get out !
