- Jainam sanghviThane, India20 contributionsA fortress located between Matheran and Panvel in Maharashtra, Irshalgad is a sister fort to Prabalgad. Located near Chauk railway station, it’s a 6.5 km out and back trek. The pinnacle is an easy to moderate difficulty which takes 2 hour to ascend and 1.5 hour to descend. From Chowk, the starting point of this trek is a comfortable 2.3 kilometres walk. From Nanivali village you follow a wide well defined path till Irshalwadi village. The path climbs a steep ridge and then tapers to an easy ascend till Irshalwadi. From Irshalwadi village head towards a temple dedicated to a local deity and access the Irshalgad plateau. The trek is child friendly till the pinnacle base. Nevertheless, there have been numerous fatalities while climbing the pinnacle.Written 9 August 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Spices of Lifeâ„¢Mumbai, India199 contributionsThis place is located in between the panvel and matheran region of Maharashtra. We had a sudden plan to outreach this place and were off to it! We had our bikes so it went pretty easy for us to get through to the base village. Once the trek started, there were rocks pouring on us at the midway. We held our nerves & reached the top.
The admiration at the top has its own fan base. A pretty good experience. Would love to visit here again. Would rate difficulty level as 3. Need to be alert every minute! We enjoyed to our fullest!Written 12 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Naushirwan CDubai, United Arab Emirates49 contributionsThis Point is a nice 2-3 km walk through the Matheran forest. If you choose to go on horse-back, its an even greater feeling. Red soil, green forest, no vehicles and chirping of birds on the way makes a super ride, even a super walk.
When in Matheran, do visit this Point. By itself, the Point doesn't have much to offer, but the walk or horse ride is super. Enjoy nature at its best en route.Written 1 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - raunakdoshiPune, India86 contributionsWorth visiting this point. - kapurashMumbai1,234 contributionsThis is a point which one reaches while moving
From Dasturi Naka towards Matheran town.
The large Ganesha idol carved in the rocks here is quite imposing. Not too many shops here but one can stop by to enjoy a cup of chaiWritten 28 May 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Nikita NMumbai, India89 contributionsWhen I came to Matheran after a long walk, I was very tired and fell ill. The next day, I went with my friends to this temple walking . This temple is below and you have to work downwards. The road to this temple is very pleasant. You start feeling Mahadev's presence there. Once you go to the temple, it is 5 mins from Charlotte lake, you feel that you are being blessed.
It's an ancient swambu mandir. You feel like you've been looked after. Whether you visit the points or not, do visit this temple.Written 4 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
