    Good experience..

General line was said to be 10hrs wait. .. vip line atleast 4 hours after paying 501/- per head....

Devi darshan was possible even without these lines. Line was for people who wanted to enter the Garbh Griha and touch the holly water. If one wants to just do the darshan it is possible to do it within one hour or maybe less..

    Jai Mata Di...

We visited Pobitora wildlife Sanctuary after spending 3 nights in Manas. Pobitora is closer to Guwahati but about 5.5 hours drive from Manas. We had booked the jeep safari using an website and landed up paying substantially high price. Hence, please avoid booking online unless you book from the website of the forest dept./national park. Other websites have names which will make you feel like you are booking from Govt. / National park portal but in the end you will find it is a private entity and charging you a very high price. We paid 3500 (Safari is only 1 hour) (without camera charges) against the standard price of 1800 and there are always Jeeps available on the counter at Pobitora and hence be assured of getting a Jeep if the Sanctuary Gate is open (Supply is far higher than Demand). The best thing is to request your resort to make arrangement for Jeep safari and it will be the actual cost charged by the National Park. Unlike Manas, the visitor having an SLR camera has to pay 500 per camera and you have to book at the time of booking. Please tell your resort that you are carrying an SLR camera otherwise you will be paying cash to the gypsy driver. If you have to pay cash, it will be without any receipt and the Gypsy guy is most likely to pocket the same. It happened in our case. Hence, please inform your resort to do the booking for you. Booking in advance is not at all necessary here. The demand for elephant safari (6.15AM to 7.15AM) is a bit high and hence has to be booked the previous day. Our resort (Arya near the entry gate) did the booking of elephant ride on the previous night and it was as per the Govt. rate.
In the Jeep safari (lot of dust), you can see wild buffalo, Chitals, a few Rhinos, many birds, (we missed a nightjar which was sitting on the road and went into the bush and we could not trace it). It was a pleasant ride from 3 to 4 PM. Good sighting of animals as Pobitora is a very small park unlike Manas.
The elephant ride is a must if you want to see Rhinos from close quarters. The ride was pleasant and it took us into the grazing field of Rhinos and wild buffalos. We really enjoyed our trip to the Sanctuary.

This a shiva temple on peacock island in the middle of the bramaputra river in guwati. I really had great expectations when I planned the visit to the island. In thd end, it was a little disappointing overall. It eventually took us nearly 2 hrs for darshan simply because the pandits were only interested in collecting money from each devotee

The journey to the island is via a government ferry or private one. My advice will be to take thd private one, they are more expensive but run more frequently. We ended up waiting for more than 90 minutes for the ferry to bring us back.

A beautiful place located in sarania hills.went during the Afternoon arti time at 12 Noon. The bhajan adds up the blissfullness of the temple. One must visit the temple to enjoy calmness. The premises of temple is very clean and decorated with ornamental flowers. One of the best places to visit in Guwahati. ISKCON's extension of Ulubari temple. Don't forget to have prasadam here. Devotees are very caring. (Darshan timings should be considered before visiting.)

There are two Saraighat bridges - old & new , parallel to each other.
The old Saraighat bridge is a two tier - rail cum road bridge over Brahmaputra river in Assam built around 1962 , connects north east India to rest of country. It’s length is 1500 metres & width 7.30 meters.
New Saraighat bridge or, 2nd Saraighat bridge is a beam bridge connecting north bank of Assam to south bank I. e. Guwahati city is slightly longer & parallel to old rail cum road bridge.
Best way to enjoy the beauty of this bridge is get down halfway from vehicle & cover the rest by side walkway.
Side walkway gives you an awesome view of river & bridge as well.
We had a nice walk on the sideway, which unforgettable.

A famous and the only grahapujan temple in Guwahati, beautifully located in the Chitrasal Hill (more popularly known as Navagraha Hill). One of the oldest temples in the city, was built in the 18th century by the Ahom King Rajeswar Singha and renovated in the mid 20th century after part of it was damaged by one of the greatest earthquakes of the region.
Located beautifully at the hilltop you get complete tranquility once you reach the entrance. Only 5-10 min pleasant drive from the busy city road lands you in a place where you can enjoy the feel of getting disconnected from all the crowd, and pollution of city life.
Very friendly priests helping you through all procedures in the temple . They will lead you explaining all the nine celestial bodies according to Hindu mythology - Surya, Chandra, Mangal, Budh, Brihaspati, Shukra, Shani, Rahu and Ketu, each represented by a Shivling with a colour representing each celestial body.
The panoramic view of a part of the beautiful city another joy.
Beautiful road condition and enough parking places.
