It is a must to Scuba Dive if you are visiting Andaman and are not having any health problem. Did a boat dive with an excellent team of Divers from DIVE ANDAMAN. Their chief instructor Malhar laid threadbare all the do's and dont's, which helped in increasing our confidence. Ours was a group of five and was very efficiently trained during pre dive.
The team was highly professional and well trained. The best thing about Scuba diving is that you don't even need to learn swimming as all the time there will be a trained scuba driver guiding you (though, if you are a swimmer, it increases your confidence a bit). All you need to relearn is the art of breathing, underwater signalling and maintaining your calm when underwater. Initial descent could cause a sharp pain in the eardrums, but trained driver make you ascend and descend slowly so that the pressure on both side of eardrums is equalized and you don't suffer any pain.
Do try boat diving as the magic of swimming amongst sea creatures is just too awesome. If you are not able to do boat dive, then at least try shore diving. DO dive, when you come to Andaman and choose dive Andaman. Highly recommended.
Our pre trainer was a young gay from North
Andamans and he was very good. Another diver, whose name I remember is Suraj, who has come all the way from Bihar and has mastered the art of diving.
P.S. They took care of my younger son in the office, who, because of his age could not go for diving.
