I don't want to give this winery 5 stars in case you go, buy my favourite wine, and they run out! It has a wonderful ambience with the old farm buildings. The staff were charming and helpful. And the wine....well, I won't say anymore.

Self guided tour of this lovely chateau including a sit down wine tasting was well worth the time.
The time spent reading the available posters and the very thoughtful wine tasting led by extremely patient staff was really worth it.

    Very accommodating
We’re able to accommodate us with no reservation on Easter Sunday for some wine (tasty The Barossan Shiraz) and a platter (excellent combination, well balanced and plenty for lunch for two). We enjoyed this in their beautiful gardens. What’s more, this was all handled with good grace and no judgement. Well done staff!

Stopped by for lunch during our day trip to the Barossa. Booked in advance and table ready on our arrival. Opted for an inside table but in retrospect an outside table (all in shade) would have been preferable given the amazing views. We went (as we usually do) for a local share platter and it did not disappoint. Great selection of cheeses and meats. Olive oil and dukka, olives et al. Plenty of warm bread and crackers. The only addition I would suggest is a small amount of butter to go with the bread. Nice selection of wines and soft drinks, friendly staff and reasonable price. Plenty of outdoor space (including stacked bales of hay!) for young and old to enjoy and expansive views.

Really nice setup with mates and outdoor furniture for wine tasting and enjoying wines and cheese platter. Wines also were really good.

Really friendly staff and the two dogs running around was cute. Highly recommended and it’s nice boutique winery. Would really recommend it.

Love love love! A great, small property with personable, eclectic staff and lovely wine. A wonderful selection of small goods to have with your wine or take home. Fire was blaring, atmosphere was great, this is a must do when in the Barossa!

Nice winery on the slopes of the Barossa Valley. Really nice to sit outside and enjoy the vista on a sunny day.

Wines were really nice, especially the Shiraz. Wine tasting $10 but fee is waved if you buy at least 1 bottle.

Small winery best reached via your one car.

Dropped in here for a tasting and was very impressed with both the service and the wines. Will happily come back, very attentive and knowledgeable about the wines and made us feel at home..... good on the upsell as well!😅

We were doing a private tour of the Barossa Valley and our tour guide recommended we visit. We must admit to not knowing much about Basedow before arriving, but meeting the winemaker himself and hearing the family's story was really special. Lots of personality in the owners and even the patrons when we were there. Not pretentious or sterile - just good natured and focused on your own individual enjoyment - what wine tasting should be in my opinion. We're so glad we visited.

We liked what we tasted but bought a bottle of the "John Oscar" to enjoy later based on the winemaker's recommendation. It was not on the tasting menu that day, but we're looking forward to tasting it soon.

Dropped in on the off chance of some wine tasting as was passing through Tanunda. So glad we dropped by. We had a 1 year old with us and so wanted somewhere for wine tasting, light food and an area where my 1 year old grandson could practice his new-found walking skills. This 'cellar door' was located next to the vineyards and had a large outside grassed area perfect for tiny feet to practice walking/tumbling. We arrived late morning just after opening and this was just right for us as there were fewer people. Enjoyed the opportunity to taste a few quality wines and a food platter consisting of cheese, meats, breads and accompaniments (perfect for little mouths too). We were made to feel really welcome and staff made a fuss of the little one (which he loved 😍) the wines, food and venue were all what I'd describe as quality. Just returned to England where I'll look forward to drinking the bottle of Barossa Valley White (2010 Marsanne. Roussane. Viogner) which I'd tasted at the winery and, thankfully, survived the 3 intercontental flights home. The Rose is a wine to taste also and I so wished I'd brought a bottle home with me too. Thank you Turkey Flat for a lovely experience for myself, my daughter and my gorgeous grandson.

Welcoming cellar door via green lawn roses & verandah. Inside great wine, artwork & hosts. Out the back is a hang out space with fire pit & rolling green, pizza oven & chook run. Also the best music vinyl pumped out to suit the mood.
