Wonderful park with a nice playgorund, and small lake and a river running through it. Perfect spot for a picnic!

This park is where the ACC Fan Fest was held and it was the perfect spot for it. The park is close to the baseball and football stadiums and there are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. Would love to come here on a regular day and hang out.

Little Sugar Creek Greenway is officially a 4.5 mile path, but it extends two more miles into the city of Pineville unbroken. I was able to complete a half marathon (and then some) this morning. Plenty of shade before the sun got high. Nice creek views along the way. Lots of people out, even on a weekday. Runners and bikers alike. Wide enough for all.

Located in an older residential, upscale neighborhood, Wing Haven is 3 acres of beautiful gardens. Planted and built up by a couple who since have passed, they created a marvel of plants and paths behind their home. It is simply beautiful. Make certain both to learn the story of the couple and also to see the short film in their education building.

We were uncertain we were at the correct address at first as it is a house. Visitors enter by going in the front door of the home where they will pay the small fee and receive an orientation.

Ten houses further away is a smaller garden included in the entry price, the Elizabeth Lawrence House and Gardens. The lady working there told us all about Lawrence and was prepared to answer any questions about the garden. She noted that upside-down signs meant the plant being described was out of season. Signs that could be read meant the plant was in-season.

Please, Trip Advisor, add a "who was with you category" of simply "Family." Although I have chosen "Family (teens)," we were all adults over 70 (Mother-in-Law, wife, and self).

It was underwhelming compared with other botanical gardens. The greenhouse was ok and the gardens was like a hike in a park. It only took an hour to get through and I was thorough. It’s quite a bit north of where most travelers stay (consider rideshare cost and time).

A great easy hike. Fall colors made it beautiful. Robinson rockhouse is worth the short hike out and back

We came here with our family to pick pumpkins and they had so many fun things going on!! Great place for kids to pick pumpkins, play in events they have and enjoy the small farm animals such as pigs that we saw there. When pumpkin picking they provide you with a wagon and you can walk over to the patch. We came a few days before Halloween and they were pretty picked over, so I would go a little earlier, but they still had lot's of exciting things going on.

It's fun to go tubing, kayaking, and/or canoeing in the Catawba River... when the water level is high, of course. I don't go too often, but it's quite fun!

Great experience. Here for wedding & reception. Beautiful venue, great food, really uncomfortable chairs, which may not have been mcgill’s fault.

The First Ward Park is a decent green space in uptown. The draw for us was the temporary exhibit with the inflatable rabbits, which my daughter adored!

I have lived within three miles of this park for four years and had no idea it existed. My son and I usually head to Reedy Creek Park for nature walking but sometimes it’s a headache to get there. We found Ribbon Walk and were pleasantly surprised. It’s rather small compared to other parks in Mecklenburg county but you can get a decent walk in here. Part of one of the trails we were on was essentially washed out and we had to improvise a crossing but we all made it and had fun doing it. The parking area is small and I could see it getting crowded on a nice weekend, but it did have a portable toilet to use if needed. For being in the middle of the ‘burbs this is a decent park to get away too.

Early Saturday morning run. Lots of people out on the greenway. Crushed gravel surface. Connects to Lower McAlpine Creek Greenway and Four Mile Creek Greenway for a 6-mile one way route.
