We were a party of 15 and they graciously put us back in the "rainbow room." We had our own space, which was very nice. The food was delicious and the beer even better! It was the second time in two years that we had visited and when we find ourselves in Ihaca, we'll go again! The waitstaff was excellent, food was hot and plentiful. A gem!

An oasis of calm amidst the already serene Finger Lakes district. Outside urban Ithaca, and surrounded by a forest. We showed up and it looked deserted - a sign on the door said "closed." However a kindly monk inside spotted us, threw open the door immediately and warmly welcomed us inside. He guided us into the main altar room and observed as we took in the holy space. Be advised - the monks here are not tour guides, but they are polite, friendly, and they volunteer nothing. And there are no tours - this is first and foremost a place of meditation and prayer, not a tourist attraction. You are free to wander about, inside and out. I was awed to find out when the Dalai Lama is visiting the USA, this is where he stays! There was some construction going on outside - I believe a new dining hall for the six monks who live there, and there visitors. This is a quite modest and humble place, so don't expect dazzle. But it is a feast for the soul, if you so wish.

Odyssey bookstore is located in the heart of downtown Ithaca and is in a historical building on Green Street.
The atmosphere is warm and inviting as is the knowledgable staff. There is a whole section devoted to Ithaca connections. I found some interesting titles and ended up with a stack of great reads.
