What travellers are saying
- RonL40Utica, NY3,364 contributionsSuperb collection at moderate prices. Huge fiction / literature selections with a wide variety of subject matter. Very well-ordered. Definitely worth a stop for anyone who like to collect books or anyone looking for a special edition.Written 13 December 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Melanie M6 contributionsWe loved learning about the process from beginning to end. Graham asked if we wanted the tour and we said, "Yes!" We went back into the garden to see the vines and learn about how gourds grow, how they are pollinated, the drying process, etc. It was so interesting!
A tween person was just setting down to create their own carved gourd project, we had not realized that was an option and so did not have the time. Next time we will plan to make something ourselves!
Good for older kids that like to make things and for all others interested in the natural and artistic worlds.Written 22 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The owner has a wonderful "eye" for unique items and offers them in her store reasonably priced. I ended up buying an "art pole" which has been a wonderful addition to my garden and is a fond rememberance of our beautiful time in Ithaca.Written 15 November 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Robby G CToronto, Canada78,235 contributionsMost of the times I go to Ithaca, I stop at the Dewitt Mall. After all we are vegetarians and Moosewood restaurant offers great plates for us.
However, passing by the musical instruments store, I always stop there as well. It is so tempting. They have quite a lot of attractive instruments. Oh well!
Last time we were in Ithaca, my wife and I visited the Dewitt Mall completely. There are quite a lot of stores in there: specialty shops, hair dresser, galleries, a hardware store, a bookstore, carpets and clothes
Interestingly enough, this building is quite old, 101 years old! It's older than myself! Even though it is that old, it is still attractive with its ivy climbing everywhere. The trees nearby it, makes it gorgeous as well!
I felt at home visiting this mall! Quite worthwhile!Written 28 January 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The artists all work in the store so you can ask questions of the people who actually make these wonderful things. There is just so much to see, plan to spend a good hour or so in the store. You won't want to miss a thing.Written 14 June 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- finfunOhio203 contributionsThere are always wonderful surprises in store here!! This time we found an amazing glass sculpture by Warner Whitfield and Beatriz Kelemen. We viewed his other offerings online at the store and ultimately bought Dancing on the Water's Edge, Blue Lagoon. The manager was so very helpful in contacting the artists and helping with the transaction. And we got a discount on shipping and a gift card as a thank you!Written 25 July 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - si101503New York City, NY151 contributionsA wide range of locally made and often impressive jewelry, wood, ceramic, wool, and other objects at reasonable prices. Definitely worth a look. By far the most interesting store at the main drag.Written 2 April 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sarah DIthaca, NY53 contributionsQuilters Corner is the complete package! This shop has loads of top-quality cotton quilting fabrics in all color and design styles: contemporary, oriental, novelty, juvenile, calico, Revolutionary war period, flannels, scads of batiks!, pre-cuts and fat quarters, as well as a large fabric sale section and a nice selection of batting by the yard. In addition, they offer loads of patterns, specialty rulers, notions, Baby Lock and Pfaff sewing machines, quilting machines and sergers (which they also service in-shop). But the best part about Quilters Corner is the professional staff who can offer extremely helpful assistance when you want advice on choosing fabrics, piecing your quilt, fixing mistakes, and quilting. And the array of classes they offer in their classroom is fabulous, too--from the beginner seamstress to the advanced quilter, there's something for everyone. And the classes are FUN!! Don't pass up the chance to visit this award-winning quilting shop when you're in the vicinity. You'll be glad you did!Written 23 April 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Arnold TIthaca, NY267 contributionsPaved parking lot, extremely large choice to choose from both domestic and imported, a area for growlers with maybe five choices, a return center, friendly staff , etc... If one wants to find a certain beer then this is the place to venture. Many returns in 2018 will be made for my beer runs and returns!Written 27 March 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - geneseehenryAuburn, NY1 contributionStopped in during a visit to Ithaca (I live 35 miles away). Asked about the "Ricanstruction" graphic novel to benefit the Puerto Rico hurricane recovery effort; it had been out for a while. Shop owner was able to look it up on-line, order a copy for me, and hold it until my next trip down to Ithaca.Written 11 August 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - artiestdeweverAntwerp, Belgium81 contributionsThis record shop is "hidden" beneath the equally interesting Autumn Leaves Used Books store.
I found a record here that I couldn't find anywhere else, and bought it to commemorate my first trip to the US. A well curated, deep collection of old and new records, friendly staff, and reasonable prices. What more can one ask of a record store?Written 19 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
