What travellers are saying
- Michael K995 contributionsWe followed the recommended historic entrance route as we entered, passing by a pond lined with different shade trees, through the lush and green South Lawn and the East Grove to arrive at the mansion. The mansion has many rooms and is huge, but nothing special really stood out except for the view from the second floor balcony where it overlooks the Italian garden. It was quite spectacular. As we toured the gardens, the Italian Garden really stood out and was very pretty. Other notable gardens include: the Sub-Rosa Garden with statues of some Roman gods was interesting; the Japanese Garden was quite scenic too; the Peacock House looked interesting on the outside but it was closed to visitors; and finally the Rock Garden with its intrincate rock work was worth a stop.Written 24 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - amusementparkguy1104 contributionsFor people who love to see a part of history, this is definitely one to visit. The house and other buildings are well-kept. The employees are knowledgeable about the house and those who lived in it. It's a must do for people traveling in this area.Written 6 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Stargazers1001New York30 contributionsWe were staying at The Lakehouse and this is less than 2 miles away. Stopped in on 2/1 and when you walk in the bar is there with a large sign with a selection of beers to pick from if you wanted a flight of 4 beers. Hubby did flight and the bar tender and local customer helped him make selections and I had a coke and we ordered the special—Philly Cheesesteak Pizza which was so delicious (told the bar tender I grew up near Philly so this was a huge compliment😊). We sat at a barrel table by window overlooking lake which was beautiful. This is well worth a visit!Written 8 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Jim FCape May Court House, NJ5 contributionsExcellent selection of beers. Bartender was amiable, informative, and made my wife and I feel like home. The Russian Imperial Stout in Basil Hayden barrel was outstanding!Written 7 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Todd45 contributionsI skied Wasatch mountains in Utah while I lived there, so to put things in perspective, I give the trails a 4 star. I like the longer runs with decent vertical drop for a ski resort in the fingerlike area. Unfortunately the Comet trail is reserved for races and tends to not be open to the public during the day. This makes the lift price not so good value. There was a bottle filling station but no drinking fountain. Decent food options. I bought a hamburger it came with fries, $12.36 - for what it's worth. The resort does not take Amex.Written 5 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- BritLitCanandaigua65 contributionsThis rating would be a 5 if not for one thing: outside food and drink are not allowed in. Bring a family? No picnic for you! Thirsty? Have a bottle of water for THREE dollars. We don’t mind paying the (rather high)admission price, but to be charged such exorbitant rates for lunch and water is needless. That said, the rides are awesome and the kids absolutely love it. Lots of lounge chairs available, as well as lockers. And there’s a great splash area for the little ones. Have a big breakfast before you go!Written 25 June 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- FireWireDiverForked River, NJ488 contributionsA family wedding brought us to Canadaigua NY. The area was lovely and since it was a bit of a ride from home (6hrs) we opted to take I. Some of the local spots. On our list was Heron Hills tasting room
We made a reservation online because it was Memorial Day weekend and we were concerned we’d be shut out of the wine tasting.
We booked the last wine tasting of the day and also were able to participate in the live music outside at 6pm.
There was a food purveyor selling pizza and we ordered 2 pizzas. Unfortunately the pizza sales exceeded their supplies and after waiting 45 minutes we were told that the ran out of the pizza we ordered and only had gluten free. While this change to menu was not a problem. The problem was we had to wait an additional 30 minutes for the pizza. I’m not sure if the pizza sales were part of the winery or a stand alone enterprise
The musician a man/woman combo were great. The ambience was lovely. Tented seating w a view of the winery and vineyard.
We left with some take home bottles and had a great visit. The wine itself varies in complexity and sweetness. They have two tasting offerings one is a reserve and the other is standard. We tried both I enjoyed the reserve offerings.Written 11 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mary M13 contributionsNo better place than the Pier on the lake, unless you own property! We stop by during all times of day, and simply relax and enjoy the unequaled beauty. Always the best place to take a Scoops treat!Written 5 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Stephen CWellsville, NY67 contributionsWe went to the market on a cool rainy Saturday morning, but we were glad we did. It was under a long pavilion-style roof a half block east of Main Street with over 20 different vendors. The produce and products were plentiful and reasonably priced. What a great find!Written 2 November 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
