This was so beautiful! we really loved hiking the trails. We waited until probably the 5th parking lot out of 13 (I''m estimating) before we hiked. This was great because there were few people passing us on the trail. The ancient paintings and carvings were something I've always wanted to see. Make sure you wear shoes with solid bottoms, as the rocks can be annoying through some cushiony sneakers. Make sure you go online and reserve a time slot! We got there earl and they still let us through. I would suggest going around 10:00 so there's lots of light and you don't get too cold in the shadows of the canyons.
What a amazing place to see. We took our 7 and 10 year old and we were all in awe! The hour and more expensive tour was definitely worth it to us. The views were amazing being in the dam was amazing. I’d recommend it to anyone. I also believe they will allow children under 8 now, there also was a lady in a wheelchair chair in our group.
Well worth a visit-----and a nice break from the strip----------all sorts of cactus and well labeled-----------several hiking trails--located only a few miles from the strip--------also has a butterfly house with live butterflies all around you--but sunlight and temperatures make a difference on their activity level
Love coming here on any day but mostly Fridays the owner and all the workers are great. We only get our water from here as we never have any problems. The coral is nice but I mostly live the fish and if they don't have it, they will custom order it for you.
We loved stopping by the flamingo exhibit while walking up and down the strip. It was our only reason to go through the Flamingo and we’re glad we did. You’ll only need 10-20 minutes to walk through and around the habitat area.
Nice easy walk from the Railroad Hiking Trail parking lot to the Hoover Dam. The railway tracks have been removed and it’s an easy smooth surface to walk on. Took about 1 1/2 hours each way with stops. Passes through the ‘old boneyard’ and ends up at the 5th floor of the Hoover Dam parking lot. Good views of Lake Mead marina along the way. Well worth the hike and a great way to get to the dam without having to go through road security and try to find parking near the dam.
I have been to Las Vegas with my child twice and went to Seaquest both times. It is a nice getaway from all that the Strip stands for. While Seaquest is not nearly as good as most Aquariums, the ability to interact with the animals make it a very good experience. I also find that the people working there are friendly and knowledgeable. I would recommend it.
This was a great trail for beginners and intermediate hikers. Parts of the trail are shaded so you are not in the sun the whole time. The views are great. The day we hiked it there was not much water coming from the falls, but overall it was a very enjoyable hike.
My wife and I visited while driving up from the Mount Charleston retreat. We simply grabbed a coffee at the Bristlecone and watched other skiers come down the mountain. The food was good and the coffee was good. We did not ski so I cannot comment there, but it looked like a lot of fun and it was a quaint small skiing location. It wasn't overly packed with people although the amount of parking was packed and maybe at capacity.
It seemed like a nice little get away from the Vegas craziness.
