Well, not quite. But the Gold Coast Bowling Center is a lot of fun. With an impressive 70 lanes, snack bar and a small arcade (hello 90s Las Vegas!), it’s got everything a family could want in terms of amenities and fun. The best part? The Center usually has late-night deals, allowing one to partake in the act of bowling for a relatively cheap price. I typically keep it pretty light at two to three games, which amounts to an hour or hour and a half, depending on how fast-paced the games are.
In retrospect, I do wish I’d attended the Bowling Center more often – this was only my second visit in the last 8.5 years, despite staying at the Gold Coast numerous times since 2010. After all, it represents a good reprieve and escape from gambling AND smoke (the Center does not reek of smoke, unlike the rest of the Gold Coast casino). Thus, not only is this activity friendly on the wallet, but it’s healthy, too (no smoke and some moderate exercise!). Plus, you get the added benefit of good laughs with whomever you’re with!
As far as bowling alleys go, this one is quite nice. It’s clean and well maintained. I appreciate some of the notable upgrades that’ve been done since I was last here (the electronic scoring units, for one). Also, for me, this bowling center is something of a throwback since the seating area looks exactly like an old “cosmic” bowling alley I used to attend in the early 1990s. Nostalgia can be a good thing!
I think if you’re looking for a fun activity to do beyond gambling, Cirque shows or the Strip, the Gold Coast Bowling Center is a good and safe bet. It’s clean, family-friendly and won’t break the bank. Then, after the game, you could visit the snack bar or TGI Friday’s downstairs. Either way, it’s win-win!
