- Breaded GooseAberdeen, UK99 contributionsRecently visited Las Vegas for a couple of nights and had to check out the Sphere after seeing all the hype about it. Went to see the V - U2:UV: an Immersive Concert Film. First of all parking is very straight forward, many attendants showing you the right way to go etc. We didn't prepay parking just paid the attendant, it was $25 so not too bad, wouldn't have been surprised if it was more.
The walk from the car park to the Sphere wasn't overly pleasant, it sometimes didn't seem that clear which way you meant to walk and it could use upgraded (maybe a lit-up walkway?). We went to the Sphere and assumed the show started at 7pm as that's what it said on our tickets, but we found out on arrival doors didn't open until 7pm! If we knew that we wouldn't have went as early. It didn't help that there a couple of people next to us in the queue that were very drunk. The show itself didn't start until 7:45pm. They have robots etc. that you can speak to on the promenade but we weren't interested, we just got a couple of drinks and took our seats. Quite baffling that they have a huge lack of non-alcoholic drink options, everything pretty much seems to be beer. They should add more options for people who aren't drinking. We grabbed a couple of soft drinks and as expected very expensive ($7 each).
The show itself was absolutely stunning, an amazing experience that no amount of pictures/videos can prepare you for. It's a true treat for the senses and definitely 'immersive' as advertised. You could have been tricked at times into thinking the band were actually there. The backgrounds were very inventive, particularly a part where you see the Strip deconstructed right down to plain desert. At around 82 minutes it felt like a perfect length too, not too short or too long. If you are a fan of U2 and haven't seen them live, this is as close to that experience you could get.
As you could guess it's not cheap, our tickets were $137 each. Pretty crazy for essentially watching a film, albeit on the most impressive screen possible. Would I recommend it... just about. It was a good experience seeing the Sphere in person. They need to put some work into the connection between the parking area and the Sphere itself. Unless it was something I really wanted to see, I wouldn't rush back.Written 5 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Anonymous855Trabuco Canyon, California1,799 contributionsWe stopped here to walk around the building and enjoy it's creative architecture. So glad to see it is a medical clinic and rented out for special events. There's no interior opportunity but it was a quick stop.Written 31 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - STAcyC17Lynn, MA42 contributionslike many of the attractions on the Las Vegas strip the gateway arch is worthy of a picture when it lit up at night. But don't go out of your way to get there. There are many other good photo ops on the strip,Written 12 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - patpetetravelRocky River, OH90 contributionsWe attended a wedding held at the Historic Fifth Street School. It was just the right size for a wedding of forty or fifty people. The open space was large enough to serve as wedding chapel, dinner seating, and buffet. We walked around the grounds to get a feel for the original use of the buildings. Great photographic art on the walls!Written 2 July 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
